Oblivion Remastered Reminds Me Of a Simpler Time in WoW

Anyone played Oblivion remaster lately?

I’m playing the Knight class. It’s got a very complicated rotation.

First, I click left mouse button. Then I click left mouse button. Then I click left mouse button. Then I click left mouse button.

There’s the 1 button rotation Ion talked about today… and yet, 30 hours later, I’m still having a blast.

When I hit 50 Blade, I got thrown for a real curve ball.

If I want, I can hold down left mouse button for a bit RATHER than click it. If I do, I do a power attack that adds a debuff that makes the enemy weak against my weapon.

So my rotation became Hold Left Click. Then Left click. It doubled in complexity. If I wanted to anyway, doesn’t really seem to effect my kill speed too much.

I took a week off to explore Cyrodiil last week. I come back, run a +10, am so rusty (after just a single week off), I get 1 shot 3 times while trying to compose the orchestra that is my 16 button rotation all the while ground circles make me move every time… and nearly cause my group to fail, we time it by like 1 minute. In the end, I feel bad, apologize for making them carry my non-locked in butt… and log off in shame.

Today is my guild’s raid night.

I’m not going tonight.

I’m going back to Cyrodiil. That just seems like a much better way to spend 3 hours after work.

How’s SoD these days? I remember a day WoW was more like Oblivion than it was Retail. I really liked WoW then. I think I play the mess it is now because I don’t really know how not to play WoW. It’s just… a habit, at this point. But maybe it’s time to break the habit.

How you all feeling these days?

If you truly want to survive in Oblivion you have to do more than left click, assuming you’re not on one of the easy difficulties.

Usually boils down to Left click left click hold right click to block, rinse repeat with maybe a C somewhere. It isn’t until ascending to godlike powers in an Elder Scrolls game does it become just left click and only left click.

A Morrowind remaster would have been better. That game was incredible.

We’ll get that before TES6

They released the ES6 teaser trailer six years and 7 months after Skyrim. It’s now six years and 11 months since the trailer released! I find that hilarious.

Yeah i believe it’s been in the works for many years. As was the fan remake of oblivion! Apparently they gave all the folks working on that a free copy of oblivion remastered. That’s pretty sweet.

Yeeeah… if it’s anything like the “Starter” talent tree, you might do more damage than a tank who is AFK for half the fight by using it.

I played on Default. Going Heavy Armor + Shield, I found myself stupidly tanky, especially after getting 50 point in Blunt, since each Power Attack added a Shield effect.

Like I could face tank almost anything and not really have too much fear of running out of hit points before it did - and I didn’t even really use Restoration or Potions. After a long battle, I’d do the fighter thing and just wait an hour, regain hps that way.

The default difficulty is one of the easy ones, and of course when getting to 70-85 damage reduction is when godmode starts kicking in.

Heavy armor and shield means eventually just hitting the physical armor cap earlier, excluding sigil stone enchanting which can make you immune to damage as early as level 17.

Until reaching those silly armor numbers, normally would have to block every few swings.
