Objective Tracker

Hello:

I have been having this issue since its update countless patches ago. I would like to
a) disable auto-tracking of quests, and,
b) prevent the tracker from opening on its own (which occurs quite often)

I have used the addon that some of you may be familiar with called “[Kaliel’s Tracker]” however, this objective tracking addon does address the above-stated issues that I am having.

I really do not wish to complain, however, as a person who prefers to keep their user-interface as minimalistic as possible, the constant “Quest Discovered” “Quest Accepted” followed by a full layout of every quest in my log jolted down my screen is quite annoying.

I understand that the Blizzard team has adhered to the simplification model that other companies have been adopting over the past decade. This has been made obvious a large amount of information related in-game controls being stripped from the interface - including the option to stop auto-tracking quests.

I also understand that these options may be intimidating for new users and I understand how complex controls and advance options could scare off newcomers and affect their bottom line. I get it. However, I also feel that the decision to remove these options completely instead of, perhaps, hiding them behind an “Advanced” tab was a disrespectful move to the players who utilized these features and for those of us would not like to use addons to perform tasks that the game natively supported.

However, while not game-breaking in any way, this is a case of where the amount of “minor” issues accumulates to form a major one. Albiet subjective, I believe that as community, we should be heard out on these types of things.

If anyone has an addon suggestion, please let me know and if you have read this, thank you as well.

Of course, feedback is most welcome from the community. I am open to new ways of thinking and I am quite ready to receive perhaps a new mindset for this particular issue, as the one I possess as of now, is not pleasent.

Thank you.
