As soon as I logged into the pre-patch, I noticed that my quest tracker is probably at least double the size, and moved into the top-left corner of my screen, even blocking half of the quest text. Other UI elements don’t display at all when they’re check on in Edit Mode, the grid doesn’t work, and I can’t save any new layouts.
This is the case for all of my characters except one - a level 10 Dark Iron Dwarf who I’ve only played as my banker. New characters that I create also don’t have this problem (for the most part). Any possible fix for this that anyone has found? Or am I stuck waiting until it’s patched?

I moved my objectives tracker and loot window via the new UI. Today i log on and find them back where they were before the move. When i open Edit Mode, move them to where i want them, they move back to where they were before i moved them in Edit Mode. This just started happening today.

I had this issue. My solution was to go to the character folder in retail/WTF/Account/AccountName/RealmName/CharacterName and just delete the “layout-local.txt” file. Do this with the game closed, then reopen!

I am having an issue with the edit mode where the objectives tracker is stuck in the bottom right corner of my screen and when I try to move it, it snaps back to that corner. I have tried deleting the ‘layout-local.txt’, ‘click-bidnings-cache’ and ‘click-bindings-cache.old’- none of which have solved the problem. Everything else in my edit mode works fine
I’m having the same issue with objective tracker reverting back to top left corner of the screen even after saving and it retains the spot. if i /reload it will revert back to top left.
Anybody had any luck with this? Deleting files within WTF folder has not helped. Have even deleted WTF folder AND Cache. No addons. Yet, issue remains. This is ridiculous, game not even playable with BLIZZ’s own UI….
Having this issue as well…it’s CRAP that we even have to go through all this, with Blizzard’s own UI. No addons. Have tried deleting WTF folder files as well as whole folder and Cache as well…
i am happening the same issue too as of today 23rd Nov 2022. the quest tracker keeps moving to the top left corner of the screen and enlarging. i have to open edit mode and close it before it goes back to the usual default location.
However, upon a /reload or new login the same problem will come back. it is definitely a minor annoyance, and has anyone found a fix for this Quest Tracker issue?
have the EXACT same issue as you. its driving me nuts as i cant seem to be able to fix it. /reload or a new login will bring the objective tracker back to the top left corner. it never saves properly and causes the Edit Mode to bug out.
same issue as you. my main character works fine, but every OTHER character (my alts) have this issue with the quest tracker upon logging in.
Can’t remember the post but someone said, find a character where the edit mode isn’t broke. Modify the UI and save a new template (do NOT make it character specific). Then go to that the WTF folder and find the realm and that character. Look for the notepad txt file that says edit UI something. Should be 6 numbers. Go to the brooe characters txt file and put the 6 numbers in from the good character. Nothing else worked for me but that did
I’m not having this specific issue, but a similar one. Every time I level up, my quest tracker will move to the top left corner, and the entire UI is bugged because it doesn’t show my Buff timers text. A reload, or even just swapping between edit mode loadouts will fix it until the next ding.
This is still an issue for me as well. Has Blizz even acknowledged that this is an issue for people? I tried deleting layout-local.txt and it would fix it temporarily, but eventually revert back to the top left hand corner. Also the edit mode is a giant mess and half of the things in it don’t work for me. Can Blizz put in an option to turn this stuff off? To revert back to the old UI because that’s the last time things worked right for me. I’ve also had issues with the Blizz party and raid frames.
I figured it out. If you have 5 profiles in WoW Edit mode, delete 1 or 2 of them and you should be able to move it wherever you want.
The reason you’re unable to move it is because there isnt any additional profile spots left for a layout. Once you remove 1 or 2 profiles, and select new profile in the menu, you should be able to customize your UI again
