Obession with HC

The obsession with HC is making this community more lame than it already was. Im all for HC as a sort of side server to play on when I’m burnt out on regular vanilla. But I would never want HC over tride and true vanilla. I say this because I’m worried Blizz is going to do something stupid like only focus on the HC aspect and leave the original game to rot. Do you guys really just not have fun playing the standard game anymore?

I think people just want Blizzard to do just about anything for Era fans. HC isn’t nearly as popular as it would seem when browsing this forum, and it’s recent surge in popularity has to with with a datamined string for a UI warning about a HC server.

More people want FRESH than they do HC.

Obligatory WHERE FRESH BLIZZARD

I’m not concerned, personally. As an OG player from 2005, I love the feel HC brings back for me of the original Vanilla game. But the community feel is different, since it’s one-life and more “focused.” The HC community is really strong right now but it’s a specific kind of game mode.

But Era (“vanilla”) WoW should always continue to be popular since people like hanging out, playing the AH, leveling whatever professions they want, running as many dungeons as they like - without having to delete their character if they die.

I want both Era (just as it is) and HC. And people who want some Era changes can have those in SoM. (However, I’m not a fan of SoM at all, personally, since it took away the Vanilla feel for me with the accelerated timeline and experience gain and artificial end at the end of 1 year. But to each his own, I guess.)

Normal Era should remain forever and I’ll pay for it forever.

I want to play a Fresh Era realm. So I hope they do that too.

HC is an awesome option to experience the depth of the game and with an active community. I recommend giving it a try and seeing how you like it. I think you’ll be surprised.

The Realm selection screen has shown around half of all Era realms are Medium pop. I think the burnout on Wrath combined with the increasing popularity of HC (and the faithful Era community, especially on the Makrik and Whitemane clusters) were responsible for Era becoming popular again.

Era is like a good book. It’s a equivalent to a Classic and will always be played, just like the Classics will always be read.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they make official hc servers but would be very surprised if they make that the future of classic van.

My hc char died and there was a free xfer option to Mankrik and I took it. So I think this will be the model they use (hopefully in conjunction with a fresh server). Though if they wanna be scummy they would make paid xfer options for hc servers the only option.

HC = Hardcore. A minigame version of Era found on Bloodsail Buccaneers. Idk what you are trying to communicate with me unless you think HC = Classic Era somehow.

HC as in diablo’s HC version? as somone who only plays HC on d3 and soon to be d4, i think this is a great idea but wonder if it’ll be as dead as the diablo fanbase currently is. we had a good community for years, but once the ddos’ing events took place, it seems their servers went downhill, and as a result, so has the community.

which servers and version of classic these are on? i’d love to give it a shot.

We can have both. I’d like both.

The community isn’t obsessed with hardcore servers… A few sweaty nerds, that’s it.

Yeah, since 2019.

Not the flex you think

You do realize that you still haven’t countered my original point, yeah?

You gotta ask yourself; Does Fyris care enough about my statement to respond?

He does not.

You’re not interested because you know I’m right. Which is why you jumped straight for an ad hominem/red herring combo.

Yeah Man! Liveit!

Still don’t remember your original point. Guess it isn’t that memorable
