It’s about an hour from where I live. Like most of Nova Scotia, there’s nothing interesting there.
Most of the things they’ve found there have probably just belonged to Mi’kmaq tribes.

I was gonna post about Dan passing. He did spend more time hunting on that island than all others combined. So yea he makes 7, time for the big reveal—or is it more like disappointment. Been watching since season 1. Time to get it over with.

They are finding a lot of tunnels built out of huge timbers. Just not any gold. All the artifacts they get is “treasure” for a lot of them.
They need the original 90 foot stone though.
There’s a legend that there’s lost treasure on Oak Island. It hails from the era of piracy.
Basically a couple of centuries ago some people showed up and found a depression. They started digging and reportedly found wood platforms. At the 108 foot marker the hole would fill in with water obscuring anything that might be below that point. There’s certainly stuff there, tunnels, timber stuff, etc, but whatever it is is likely from prior inhabitants doing stuff.
Why they’d think pirates could get something below that point when they couldn’t get below that point is beyond me. Unless they assumed that the water didn’t fill in the hole at an earlier point in time, I guess?
Anyway it’s basically a place where people who want to “find fame, glory, and a spot of treasure” go because that’s their retirement plan.

I watched for 1 1/2 seasons, starting back in 2018 iirc, but no more.
I am convinced that there is nothing there, they know there is nothing there, and they are trying to keep the show going for as long as they can.
It honestly became frustrating to watch because its literally nothing but the same thing each episode and it feels like its going nowhere.
And then they had that special episode where they explored the idea of Oak Island being haunted and I just checked out.
At this point it feels like its just dragging on with nothing new.
This show is the biggest scam on TV
