N'Zoth Voice Over Lines Discussion

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqXv-QFdrd0 Here you go boys and girls.

And for the people who don’t want to listen they can just read these lines right here.
-Mere baubles decay beneath the gaze of a god.
-Wither!
-Kneel!
-Obey!
-Children, the depths are my domain.
-Deeper, ever deeper.
-Let the tides draw you into my dream.
-Ah, you think you know power?
-The storm holds strength, but there is a price to be paid.
-Harness your fury, make your hatred a weapon.
-At last, embrace the truth of shadow.
-Yes, you draw closer. Ever closer.
-With every choice, you become more my servant.
-Hm, patience, patience. They may yet prove worthy of my gift.
-I will taste their dreams… their flesh.
-Yes, you are indeed the ones I seek. The ones to turn the tide.
-Receive now the greatest of all gifts.
-My dream has become your own.
-The circle of stars made flesh.
-She will show you the way.
-Come, come, the hours apporaches when all eyes shall be opened.
-Go, but the blade must remain to serve my will.
-I have dreamed your destiny, mortal.
-The hour is close at hand.
-The Light has struck a bargain with the enemy of all.
-Six seats at the high table, six mouths that hunger. One will consume all others. -The veil wanes.
-His crown will open the way.
-The fall of night reveals her true face.
-She will bring only ruin.
-When the arrow finds its mark, the last fetter will fall away.
-I alone can save you from what is to come.
-It grows hungrier, bolder.
-Alas, your eyes are closed.
-He gave himself to the deep places, he gave himself to me.
-She is not the last, but the first.
-Drown her, and you will see.
-Receive my gift and see all truths before you.
-That which was sunken shall rise, all that was sleeping shall be awakened.

Let the bad speculations begin!

Clearly, each and every line has prophetic meaning that we must discern over and debate for months!

I tease, I’ll read over them but try not to look deeply into them. Just a sorta surface guess.

Channeling Palpatine I see. Very nice.

UNLIMITED POWAH!

(full sentence)

Of course every line doesn’t. I posted all of them regardless because some people can’t look at youtube videos where they are or what have you.

Alright picked the ones I’m interested to give a thought about.

So, we’re drowning in flesh? ew.

Xal?

One of the proposed origins is that she’s a claw of an Old God, so she may be related to N’zoth.

Hour of her third death I suppose.

Hm. Hmm. Hmmm

/shrug.

I swear to god if we finally get a Light themed expansion and the freaking Void Lords are behind it, I’ll be incredibly disappointed. Like, beyond words. We have a chance for a new villain unrelated to VL/OG.

Uh, is this the Master’s Table? Six mouths?

Could be related to Diamond or the Boy Kings.

Hm. Wild card, but Elune? It does seem like Tyrande’s new power is void, or at least looks like void. Could her true face be related?

I mean, I don’t think Sylvanas has a ‘true face’ I think she’s pretty out in the open with her goals and direction.

cough.

This one interests me. It could be related to Xavius, but I can’t help but feel like he’s not that related anymore.

Aszhara I guess.

Azshara again. How do you drown a naga?

EDIT:

Oh I’m just teasing the Story Forum Regulars, not you.

I am disappointed that there is no “Good, good” line here.

Wanted to point out the important ones that didn’t seem like dialogue fodder. And just to go ahead and point it out. Yes, we know we can’t take this as canon. It’s still fun to talk about.

-Yes, you are indeed the ones I seek. The ones to turn the tide.
-Receive now the greatest of all gifts.

This one may occur during the Xala’tath quest when we make an offering to N’zoth cause reasons. Good going us! We’re so smart!

-The circle of stars made flesh.

Isn’t the first mention of the “circle of stars”. Curious if this refers to Xal’atath’s new mortal form.

-Go, but the blade must remain to serve my will.

Now this could be interesting. We know the dagger is ultimately given to Sylvanas, even though Alliance PCs do the quest. I had heard, though not verified, that Alliance PCs drop the dagger at the end, whereas Horde players keep it to give to Sylvanas.
I wonder if this is dialogue for Alliance players, prompting them to drop it. Which implies whatever the Horde may use it for is his will?

-The Light has struck a bargain with the enemy of all.

Dramatic Piano

-Six seats at the high table, six mouths that hunger. One will consume all others. -The veil wanes.

Could be interesting. I’ve seen theories that the six mouths could be the six cosmic forces. Fun stuff to speculate about.

-The fall of night reveals her true face.
-She will bring only ruin.

Elune or Tyrande? You decide!

-When the arrow finds its mark, the last fetter will fall away.

Sylvanas or Alleria? YOU DECIDE!!!

this makes it even more concerning that the dagger is in sylvanas’s hand who is starting to sound like that old god tumor in the emerald nightmare

he is probably making us drop it because we are not the intended user

Wait what’s this? Where do we encounter the dagger again?

8.1.5, sylvanas is bummed out that it is dormant but hopes to awaken it and calls it a torch to light the way

Xal’atath… a fascinating weapon. I have heard tales of its exploits.
A pity it now lies dormant. But anything that slumbers can be awakened.
This blade is more than a mere dagger. It is a torch that shall light our path forward.
Soon I will call upon you again, champion. And together, we will steer the Horde toward its destiny.
The Alliance believes that by striking down Rastakhan and decimating the Zandalari fleet, they have broken us. That the Horde will soon crumble.
Fools. The boy-king has lied to himself and his people. He hasn’t the faintest inkling of what he’s truly up against.
War is a living thing. It writhes, it grows, twisting and turning until its final form is revealed.
This war is about to shift yet again. And it will be this blade that guides our way to victory.

Erm wasn’t one of the lines from Emerald Nightmare as well? “Five torches light the way” or something?

yes it is. sylvanas is starting to sound like that old god tumor

And Sylvanas also calls the dagger a torch

i wonder what the other 4 are

Well, torches could just be stepping stones. Teldrassil could’ve been a torch, for example, as it was the first step on the ‘Path’ that Sylvanas walks. Each torch could be an event or action that furthers that path along. Just a guess.

perhaps, i do wonder, are the five keys to open the door the same thing as the five torches to light their way?

“His crown will open the way” could be referencing The Lich King’s crown of Domination. Considering they’ve been not so subtlety referencing him repeatedly for a while now.

that’s a true possibility. Let’s face is, the Helm of Domination is the only physical crown that matters in this game at all.

The alternative is a figurative crown, like Anduin’s or Talanji’s ascencion to monarch being a ‘crown’.

I feel like the five key thing should still be the Pillars.

Because they were the focus of the base game of Legion, I kinda don’t want them to go away. They are powerful weapons, I think they should stick around.

I do think it could be Anduin since Sylvanas gave us an option that makes sense: he doesn’t know he’s lying. So I could see Anduin stumbling into some disaster accidentally.
