I feel like this was a pvp thing, where you had to kill a certain amount of people under N’zoths influence. I think this was during BFA
you’re thinking of sliver of nzoth i believe. this helm says cosmetic and i haven’t actually seen this item linked yet, so i assume it’s new?

yeah i was getting it mixed up. I didnt PVP in BFA and i only remember a little of my guild talking about it. MB
OK so when you go through the BFA questline you are “blessed” with the gift of Nzoth, which overwrites your helmet and allows you to hear extra whispers and have a few special interactions with NPCs when you walk by them similar to being a sylvanas loyalist.
The next step of the questline is to visit the priest of Akunda who expends a great portion of his gods power cleansing you. They make this out to be a big deal and that it’s a permanant choice. Once you do it you lose the head transmog and buff, but get a toy that can apply it again.
To my knowledge this cosmetic is only available to players by using the toy. If this is new WoWhead doesn’t have it listed as coming from any source yet.
Killing 10 players in BFA world content gets you assassin.
Killing 10 players in BFA world content as an assassing lets you get the Sliver of Nzoth, growing tentacles and joining a hostile to everyone faction.
Killing 10 players in BFA while under the effects of the sliver grants you a toy Sliver of Nzoth allowing you to join the hostile faction and grow tentacles whenever you want (in BFA content).
This is themed similar, but it’s a different thing.
