N'zoth and Xal

So, the implication is that N’zoth is indirectly responsible for the fall of the other Old Gods and Xal being so cunning she can trick an Old God himself.

Clearly this does up Xal’s powerscale danger level abit. I am curious what Xal’s bargain is and if it means N’zoth will be reborn.

Most likely their bargain was what we saw in BFA.

Xal’atath gets to be free from the blade, in exchange she delivers N’zoths chosen (aka us) along with the three artifacts that are central to the Crucible of Storms raid. One of which is still unaccounted for. That being the Tempest Caller helm. Given the other two are loot drops from Uu’nat. As for the empty blade, that remained in N’zoths hands. Until the Horde killed Uu’nat and took it anyway.

nzoth predicted his own death imo

I would say less predicted but had a plan B just in case. Given that his bothers were killed by us. C’thun in Ahn’Qiraj, Yogg-saron in Ulduar and Y’shaarj (after being resurrected) after we defeated Garrosh.

I mean N’zoth was from a certain point of view trying to help us in BFA. By trying to warn us about Zovaal. However being an Old God and the mastermind behind Cataclysm he could not be trusted and thus became the boy who cried wolf.

Oooooh I’m tingling with anticipation!

I my mind is overflowing with theories on this alone, but I will reserve them for now until it comes out… I have some many questions too:

  • What is Xal really to even call the Old Gods “Pestilence Parading” as Lords?
  • How are the Etherials connected with this story (besides the obvious Void stuff)?
  • Arthas Story being explore gave me goosebumps and the mention of the “forest whispered his name when he was born?” OK NEED TO KNOW HOW THIS TIES IN!!!
  • Probably just coincidence but… I scream of excitement if Skull of the Man’ari was use to glimpse those secrets! The story does mention that Thal’kiel elevated his his craft by “listening to the whispers of a Dark Presence” this tying in with Xal would put her on a Level of bigger threat level than Sargeras not because of her power interestingly enough but because her machinations extend beyond just being all powerful or a Raid Piñata, because that means her knowledge and influence does not stop or end with the Void alone…IMO. I wonder if she something similar to Tiamat of our irl world mythos, a primal entity that predated even the Gods and is as old or older than creation or its ordering… her flesh being use as the mythos said, “to be the building blocks of existence”? If so that means in WoW Xal essence has survive and has been influence from the shadows creation itself even if she has not a material vessel to influence it directly… Nah… that too deep, to cosmic scale and convoluted, she probably a Void Lord or something close to it…idk who can say, so many possible theories and stories that could be use with these type of plots! lol
    :dracthyr_uwahh_animated:
Ahhh to much question! This is good IMO… I can’t wait to see what’s really up with all these revelation and tie in the lore of WoW!

N’zoth was had like everyone else that’s worked with Xal’atath. At least Gallywix noticed a pattern, even if he didn’t manage to avoid it.

I wonder if Xal’s job was to keep the old gods in line of sorts, cause it sounds like the old gods had been playing empires instead of doing their job corrupting azeroth

“You shall only watch this world as it gains untold power without you”

Can’t help but note Y’shaarj didn’t say “watch us gain power, loser.” I’m not going to jump on the “The Old Gods are good guys!” bandwagon, but I do think this is another clue that they were possibly influenced by Azeroth in the same way the Thraegar and potentially Archaedas were suggested to have been.

The World Soul wants power so it manipulating the Old Gods to use Uldum(remember Edicts of the Prime Designate say the Titan Keepers credited all works and wonder to the Titans regardless of who really made such works) to give them power is expected.

Uldum uses the Emerald Dream to repair the World if overly corrupted while stealing life from AUs to fuel itself is what I suspect(explaining why Iridikron emphasizes the Titans preserving this Timeline).

There are Infinite Genuine Timelines but each one has One True Successful Titan. And yes Outland/MU Draenor(which isn’t a Titan) like AU Draenor(which a Void Revenant notes is a dying God I.E. a Titan) was drained by the Titan of Draenor’s One True Path.

This is why the Legion attacks all Timelines as all Timelines have a Titan.

Killing MU Argus ensures AU Arguses can arise.

I wonder if Xal’tath and the old gods might work for different void lords? The Titans and Death Lord members had differing viewpoints. It’s not unlikely the Void Lords do too.

N’zoth is NOT in that dam blade!!! The blade went kaboom after wrathioon used it!!!

N’Zoth clearly is no schemer and only lasted this long because destiny said so. I really doubt that Xal’atath would have been able to manipulate N’Zoth if it weren’t for her future self getting in contact with the Infinite Dragonflight thus proving he is destined to die.

The Old Gods like the Bleeding Hollow have vindication in the fact they know exactly how they are going to die which is why the 2 Schemers went down first while the arrogant pompous loudmouth went down last.

We know that Wrathion stabbing the blade into N’Zoth’s carapace, tore it open in a massive of energy and the blast sent Wrathion away from the blade. It’s status, and if it is even intact, are currently unknown.

To be honest there’s apart of me that wanders if we’ll come across the broken blade and reimprison Xal’atath or something.

Well, when i watch the cineamtic, i see him looking at his hand and there is nothing but some shadowy dust.

To me its clear the blade exploded.

But yeah, i really hate the “N’zoth is in the blade duuuude!” theory

That’s fair.

I can understand that.

But I still want to know why exactly N’zoth wanted to keep the empty blade. Given that Azshara and later Wrathion wanted to use it to either imprison or weaken the Old God. I feel that, along with N’zoths pathetic defeat is why quite a few people want to believe that theory.

It is a mix of copium and lore speculation.

And it is not like N’zoth even attempted to stop the Horde from claiming it after they killed Uu’nat. Almost like N’zoth knew something that we didn’t at the time.

Remember: Xal’atath’s future self Time Traveled to the day the Aspects became Aspects with no hint of returning to her Time Period with Season of Discovery hinting that she took the long way back.

She could easily have manipulated N’Zoth into forcing her Past Self to leave the Dagger behind so that he could use Sylvanas giving it to Azshara so that she would be tempted to have the Players bring the Heart of Azeroth to N’Zoth’s prison so that she could use the Azerite to free N’Zoth.

Since Xal’atath told N’Zoth the Players would win he had faith that he would win out and didn’t bother to remove the Dagger to destroy it.

Or rather that is probably what he made her think as he noticed our Time Travel to the Black Empire and figured out the Game Plan that Xal’atath gave Chrono Lord Deios from reading Eternus’s mind.

N’Zoth believes in the One True Path and since death only sends him back to the Void and since he can freely move between Timelines this defeat means nothing to him.

Of course his plan counts on the Re-Origination Beam not being something that purifies his Soul sending it to a different Cosmic Realm he is still taking a big risk!

It seems to me that the void lords are less aligned than other cosmic pantheons. It wouldn’t surprise me if one faction of void lords created the old gods with the intent of influencing a world soul while another thought it was a stupid idea and sent Xal’atath. And if the Eternals are anything to go by, Different void lords might represent different aspects of the void. One might be about how it represents oblivion, another one might be the succor of night, while another one could just be like Sheogorath and just care about maddness

But…thats explained in bfa why he ask for the blade to remain in the crucible, thats literally explained : The Blade had to be found by the Horde champion AFTER they beat Un’at and thus prouve themselves strong enough to reach the final prison and free N’zoth.

The idea was :
Azshara would not make her move IF she had not a mean to kill N’zoth, the dagger was that mean, N’zoth wanted the Horde to get the dagger so Sylvanas can make a deal with Azshara to bring the Horde fleet in Nazjatar.

Its all explained you know?

There is no like super upper plan on the future as n’zoth wanting the “'keep the empty dagger” (by the way he dont say he want to keep it he just say “the blade must remain to serve my will” (his will being to have it given to the Horde for the Nazjatar plot to unfold.)

I really dont get why people want to add more plots into an already complicated one, they just did not understend bfa storyline?

I also love how people call N’zoth defeat “pathetic” while it took a whole expac to kill him with all of the most powerful titan facilities and power available to kill him…

Also, the dagger was not to emprison n’zoth it was to break throught his carapace, something that would have killed him if azshara used it because in the eternal palace he was on a weakened state.

Mainly copium and lore missunderstanting imo. And mainly, people hate bfa because they just did not understand its story, and people having such theories prouves it.

Well, no he did not stop us, because he knew it would make Sylvanas make her deal with Azshara…like its clear as crystal in bfa…

Xal’atath did not use any time travel dude…
