Ok I have almost all the top trinkets for demo lock (Belor’relos, Nymue’s, BFB, Ashes) and the guides all say use Belor and Nymue’s. What they don’t say is when I’m supposed to use Nymue’s. Is it on pull, after I have demons out, what? One guide says to use Belor on pull (which means running in close and delaying demons), but that delays Nymue’s in buffing grimoire and tyrant.
I play destruction and not demo, but I would say line nymue’s up with your major cool downs because that gives a large chunk of mastery while the suncaller trinket is strictly damage.
If there’s a heroism/timewarp/bloodlust at the start of a fight, I’d use nymue’s at the start with all of your other cool downs and then use suncaller when it’s ready after most of your burst is done.
That’s what I would think, but one of the top demo locks in the world has a guide that says use Belor first which is where the confusion lies.
Yeah, that really is odd. Maybe there’s something to it, like getting some extra ramp time if all cool downs aren’t being blown at the start. Maybe on something like Smolderon where there’s a big burn phase 1 minute in?
It’s one reason I dislike running 2 on use trinkets. I use Nymue’s and Pip’s. As far as when to use Nymue’s I would use it right after the Tyrant cast so all the empowered demons get the effect.
Could be because Nymue’s a longer cast for less overall damage on average, not counting the Mastery bonus, and Belor does damage to you as well.
And you don’t get the max benefit of Mastery from Nymue’s if you’re still ramping up your demons, I assume, so better once you’ve got a steady amount of Imps and pair of Dreadstalkers rolling.
Might also get you an extra cast of Belor in the fight if you use it off the rip and keep it on cd, which is always nice.
You ramp, cast Tyrant then use nymue trink
Yes.
Use belor on pull unless you won’t lose a cast of it. Use Nymue as soon as it’s available after tyrant. You can delay your tyrant a bit to sync better with nymue if you know you won’t lose a set of cooldowns
Example: If the boss dies in 3 minutes, you will only get two uses out of belor anyway, so you don’t need to cast it on pull.
3 minute kill example
0:10 Summon Demonic Tyrant
0:12 Nymue
0:32 Belor
2:10 Summon Demonic Tyrant
2:12 Nymue
2:32 Belor
The above is roughly valid for any generic boss kill time between 2:45 and 4:00. If the kill time is expected to be around 4:10, you should pop belor on pull and delay nymue instead, as you should get a third belor usage.
This can vary based on the encounter. For example, its good to use belor on pull on Smolderon so that you have Nymue with Tyrant on first World in Flames and you will have Belor again for the second world in flames, and so on.

Q: When do I use my on-use trinkets?
A:
- If you have a single on-use: Int/Haste/Crit, use before Tyrant. Mastery/Versatility after Tyrant.
- If you have 2x stat on-use (usually Nymue + x): Nymue right on pull then on CD. Second trinket when it comes off CD and then sync with Tyrant.
- If you have Nymue + Belor: Belor right on pull (can delay if you won’t lose a cast), then Nymue on CD. You can delay your Tyrant setup a bit to get better trinket usage, but only do so if you won’t lose a set of CDs.
gfg, dogs, tyrant out DS and then channel trinket
