There’s no need to continue the rest of the questline for your cloak.

Cloak isn’t needed at all in the raid, insanity does nothing to you.

Yes, but what matters here is that the raid is unlocked at that time. Before that quest you can’t get to the raid.

Fun fact. You cannot access the last wing of LFR Nyalotha without the cloak.
