Just watched the final cinematic. I thought it was cool. I think some of you have unrealistic expectations for a video game’s story.
They actually seem to imply that Old Gods don’t go anywhere when they die. When they die, they just cease to be completely. Until they retcon them again, that is.
They simply can’t let things end this way, we need a proper old gods xpac.
You can’t kill of N’zoth this flippantly, he has had so much build up to him and you just throw him in the dumpster?
You absolutely can not do this, I’ve waited years for this, this rushed ending can not be made to stand, you can’t end the old gods in this pathetic way.

Video games can be great mediums for storytelling. Companies like Bioware (before it fell to the dark side) and CD Projekt Red have long shown that there is both a demand for story-driven games and a capacity to make compelling narratives within the medium.

Blizzard nowadays are just trowing away things on the screen by the rule of cool wasting characters, stories and plots because their massive egos
we had Legion but… sargeras isn’t the main villain, is a lame random titan who no one give a crap about, and Sargeras is trapped with the edgyllidan
now, we have an entire hype build to the faction war, but you have no faction pride at all, we are just being dumb following a dead socipath because the devs says so, then, we rehash the mop story, so we can hug ourselves after everything, pretending it didn’t happen
and one of the most iconic villains is dealt in a single patch, almost coming from nowhere in a lame cinematic, trying to take the sauron defeat scene
Don’t let me start with the new expansion where they throw away the Lich king plot after what, ten years? because sylvanus have to look cool
Writers are too much full of themselves and refuse to admit their masterpiece of writing is hot garbage, they simple think we are haters and we can’t fathom how good and deep their stories are (despite this obnoxious plot being a mop copy but 100x worse)
things will not change, if they don’t change writers and start actually doing warcraft stories, like we used to have
i can speak for myself, but i want blood, i want gore, i want simple things, i want kill my enemy, i want to fight with my brother races
i don’t want stories of how we discover characters deep feelings and wherever bullcrap they had, keep those in books, i don’t stories of war is bad, and how we have to bring peace, don’t want the game shame me because i don’t want peace with an enemy, don’t want to work with the enemy races/factions unless is to kill someone worse, so we can go back to kill ourselves faster

I’m gonna be blunt and say old gods are the worst characters and N’zoth was no better. They are just inhuman entities bent on destroying everything, they aren’t characters.
Xal’atath, however, she has the potential to be far more interesting than any of the Old Gods -which again, were nothing but tumours-
