Anyone else having issues with Nullifying Shroud? I have it on my action bar, but when I click it, it does nothing.
Tried choosing another spell, then going back to it. Tried /reload, tried logging off, but nothing seems to work so I’m just asking if anyone else has been having this issue?
It was changed in 11.2 it isn’t an active ability anymore
I gotta say I like the direction they have gone with the ability. It rewards meaningful and intentional counterplay now. However I wish this ability was kept as a standalone PvP ability rather than forcing us to use Verdant Embrace to trigger it. Just feels bad not having Verdant up to kite or off-heal anymore because you will just be self-casting it to avoid CC.
It’s a nerf but somehow the ability is more rewarding.

After playing with it more, I don’t think it’s even that good. People just see the shroud buff and wait a few seconds to cc anyway, especially because it doesn’t even trigger any DRs if you eat anything. It helps with some random splash aoe but doesn’t help with Pres’s weakness in the first place.
Oh you shrouded a poly/fear/clone? Gratz, you eat a full duration anyway 2 seconds later.
Yep. Human beings aren’t NPC mobs. This ability is extremely easy to outplay. Ridiculously so actually.
Yes and I feel as if this change was balanced around Presvokers in arena. They have a 13sec verdant CD so they are getting way more value out of it than Dev/Aug.
Might be time to run something else since it seems way lower value.
So now I’m convinced that whoever made this change not only doesn’t play evoker, but they had some sort of ax to grind against the class because it feels like a maliciously bad change. Just leaving it as an activate with only 1 pip would have been 100x better than making us waste our strongest self heal to preempt a CC.
Now Deep Breath is also a liability to use, and making our set bonus rely on it while nerfing functionality feels like a proper kick in the nuts.
This is the single worst change to evoker PvP they have made since introducing the class. I understand if the ability is overtuned, but they intentionally screwed its functionality by making us WASTE OUR SELF HEAL before we might even have taken any damage.
What an absolutely stupid change.
Yeah it 100% was designed around preservation Evokers with the shorter cooldown and haste stacking (since it’s CD is impacted by haste on Pres but not the other two specs).
I don’t even bother running it much these days when I play Dev or Aug because the cooldown is long and you have to use it at inopportune times.
It’s not even good for Pres anymore either. You still eat just as much cc, if not more than before. Not to mention I’m running out of mana every game(that someone doesn’t get globaled in a 2 second cc that is) even though I’m running the mana talents. Pres feels hectic and horrible to play at the moment in shuffle.
I feel the need to revisit this. Been playing a lot more with full gear and have learned to utilize the new talent more. I think I actually do like it when I have the awareness and ability to hold it for when cc is coming. Going to keep testing but I’m beginning to change my mind on my original position - especially now that the game is slowing down.
