NPCs can now melee from range?

Everyones kinda known something is up with NPC charges for a while. Back in the day you at least had time to react after a charge, whether that was with intervene, ice block, bubble, blink, whatever.

In classic reacting is often not an option because NPCs are literally swinging as theyre charging. This is not supposed to be happening. It’s been bugged since the first lava surger in molten core started doing it.

It’s gotten so bad that you can even get hit by melee BEFORE being hit by charge:

It doesnt take a game designer to know something is very wrong with that sequence.

Melee swings in the middle of a charge animation have never been a thing, until classic. It used to always be;

  • You get charged, take charge damage, get stunned, mob goes back to tank.
  • Now its; You get charged, get hit, take charge damage, get stunned, get hit again, mob goes back to tank.
