NPC named Eadweard Dalyngrigge

I cannot believe how stupid your people are who come up with NPC names. There is literally an NPC named Eadweard Dalyngrigge. THE ENTIRE WORLD - HIS FIRST NAME IS BASED ON THIS - knows how you can read even if the characters are somewhat jumbled. Tell me - actually, don’t - the first thing you think of when you read that last name. I cannot believe the nerve of Blizzard to release an NPC with that name. It is shameful, and you need to rectify that IMMEDIATEDLY.

Am I mistaken, or do you seem to be extraordinarily exercised by an NPC whose name seems to have been inspired by a marginally notable 14th Century British knight and parliamentarian?

Who, frankly, probably no one outside of Sussex has ever heard of.

Which, in this, you haven’t provided.

The context is that this is a family-friendly MMORPG (rated T for teens). Did you really need me to spell that out?

AFAIK, you’re the only one to see it.

BTW, “Eadweard” is an old Anglo-Saxon (Old English) given name, the direct source of the modern English name “Edward” and occasionally used in relatively modern times.

I am…squinting at the name and trying to figure out how it’s objectionable. I’m trying hard. Ee-ad-weird? It has very Tay-ah-TIM-eh energy, to throw in a Pratchett reference, but I’m just not seeing the naughty bit.

yah i’m not sure what this guy is going on about…but i got my popcorn handy.

I think our friend has realized they got het up over a misreading or something. I doubt they’ll return to explain, or to continue their crusade against whatever was objectionable in their mind.
