The NPC “Janky” is missing from the Isle of Dorn to start the “Janky Candles” quest. Does not show after reloading, disabling all add-ons, or exiting the game. Can’t continue the quest line in Gundargaz.

He goes back to the ringing deeps in the main town and hangs out in the little market area
I am confused, because I never talked to the NPC to accept the quest for Janky Candles. I don’t him in the main town. Also the house that this quest line continues in has a closed door for me.

Same for me. He has disappeared from the Bee area quests, and appeared in Gundargaz, but it still says “Help Janky” only. cannot complete…

wow, nevermind… just finished some other quests around Gundargaz and it allowed me to finish Jankys quests. Just keep questing!
Once I got back to the market area where he is hanging out, I spoke to Bosh (general goods vendor near by) and then the Janky Candles quest got the next step.

This exactly. When I did the chain the way the map was marked was extremely misleading. But if you are naturally working through the quests in the first 2 zones you will eventually complete it. They need to fix how it marks the areas because it’s impossible to figure out sometimes where the next step is.
Same here, I can’t complete it. He ran off and the waypoint blue circle stayed. I assume he is somewhere “home” is because that is where he said he was going but there is no more information on how to find him given in the game.
He ends up making the main city in the 2nd zone his home. G-something.
for those stuck via warband shenanigans he is in dorn for me by the bees “new home new candle” and is nowhere in gundargaz

Just another bug Blizzard missed. They really needs to take bug reports and beta testing more seriously.
If you fly up, and down, it is definitely telling you it’s there on the mound, where you kill the bees, and is marked on the map, but it’s not there.
Go to the Ringing Depths.
If you have already made it down to the Ringing Deeps you may need to do the Skitter quest chain until Skitter goes to Gundargaz. Once Skitter arrives it should reactivate the Janky quest in Gundargaz.

I can confirm you have to get skitter to at least past -A New candle, New hope- to get Janky and Fourman to show their quests. I was experiencing the same issues as everyone else cause i was just grabbing all quests and not doing the main questline first. After finding skitter in the Ringing depths (/way #2214 61.4 32.0 Skitter) until he sent me to Gundargaz.
