Nozdormu's Teaching and Flow State

Does anyone else prefer the use of Nozdormu’s Teaching (and Flow State) over Resonating Sphere? I have just broken into M+ 15s and it feels extremely smooth and easy because I can essentially always cast empowered spells back-to-back-to-back. I always felt like I had gaps in my rotation with the long CD’s for empowered spells. With the current set bonus I am getting Living Flames sent to as many people in the group as I want every few casts and I can get my Dragon Breath cooldown to ~15 seconds or so with Flow State+Nozdormu’s teaching. I know that the echo usage on the whole group is nice with Resonating Sphere but I’m getting so many empowered spells and living flames that I never have a gap in my rotation. For transparency, I am using my echos whenever I get procs in-between casts.

It’s my build for m+ and I enjoy it

I just cook stuff.

Don’t sell yourself short, you also whine on the forums like a Karen on an Amazon review.

Nozdormu’s teachings + flow state would be purely an offensive choice. It would make fire breath like a 15 second cooldown which would increase your damage significantly.

But defensively, nozdormu’s teachings does absolutely nothing, at least in M+. I’m one of the top 50 pres evokers in NA I can tell you that there really aren’t any mechanics in the game that 30 second Dream breath and 30 second spiritbloom can’t handle.

You have more than enough healing when you need it especialy with stasis. Nozdormu’s teachings reducing the CD of defensive empower spells is therefore completely useless, it would be a purely yolo offensive choice, which, in a lot of keys probably isn’t bad.

I just know for me personally temp anamoly as a way to get echos on people to double up dream breaths is too smooth and good to ever give it up. Maybe in lower keys like 20-25’s you can play it for offense but again, it’s overkill defensively. You don’t need spiritbloom or dream breath that frequently in any dungeon.

Flow State is an intersting choice and one I’d love to play but you just don’t really have the points for it. Lifeforce mender and Life-givers flame are way too good to ever not take them in place of flow state.

Thanks for the thorough response. Could you post on your pres profile so that we can see what your spec is? Also, I appreciate the feedback. This is what I was hoping for.

One benefit on my playstyle is that the living-flames from both flame breath and the frequent empowered spells will go find my team mates that are rather far out of range and heal them. This has sort of solved the `ranged player is on the other side of the map’ problem I keep having in M+. Does this kind of thing go away in much higher keys? How do you handle those players?

Is your contention that we ought to not emphasize damage as much? If we have so much healing, ought we not get more flame breaths more frequently to improve our damage contribution?

Thanks for the discussion!

I’m fairly certain he was saying that to Benares, not you. :man_shrugging:

I figured  Thanks for acknowledging that.

I spec’d as Panda recommended tonight and it is pretty clean, I have to admit. The only time where it got hairy was when my two or three combos had been eaten up on Everbloom +15 during the Ancient Protectors boss fight. After I had eating up my combos I was kinda stumped what to do when my entire UI was on cooldown. I’m not really sure how Evokers are supposed to tank that fight with such a short range for casting. My tank, through no fault of his own, kept moving out of range of my Dream Breaths and things got hairy with DPS all over the map also missing a lot of my healing.
