Apart from armor stats, is there any dif?

Well, there’s the obvious (Warlocks use cloth, DKs use plate).
And plate has more armor than cloth.
Other than that, there’s no difference.
The damage taken is now reversed, as plate you’ll take the most damage instead of cloth
Non-tank Plate can take 2 hits from a raid boss before dying, everyone else takes 1 hit.
Well the plate is something you have dinner on
The mail is something we get from the mailbox
The leather is something we use for your high end lounge chairs
And the cloth is something we wipe our mouths with after a good meal in the above chairs after eating on the plates and looking at the mail.

If you mean “is it okay to wear a piece of cloth as a mail wearer,” the answer is no. Because you get a 5% increase to your main stat for wearing the correct armor.
oh no, it is just that my friend was talking about this as if there was some kind of hidden modifier, but reallity is this only matters for phys dmg because of armor, right? for instance, magic damage hits the same regadless of armor type
