Did you get your dream job ? My dream job was being a marine Biologist but I turned out to be great at coding c++ html python and Java and would have to move 416 miles away from where I lived to pursue marine biology.

My dream job was to become an astronomer and live in Hawaii on a spot of land where I could keep a horse.

Then I found out I fail so hard at math. So… that didn’t happen. lol

I do not dream of labor. No one should.

Work is always a means to an end.

My dream job was to be a developer, but now that I am one I have second thoughts. Think I’d rather be in research of some sort.

Congrats!!

Absolutely! I just wanted to work with numbers while making a certain amount of numbers lol. I had a salary goal by the age of the 30, which I reached last year at the age of 29. I have new goals for by the time I reach 40 though! I try to stay competitive with myself

My dream job is coming soon, when I finally get some money saved up at my current job, I want to move to Anchorage Alaska and work for the university there

Or even if I won the lottery I’m still moving to Alaska

I’m “old” by WoW standards. As for the dream job… i have no idea what i want to do… if it’s a job sooner or later it’ll feel like a job even if its something I like to do.

Went to college to be a writer, delusions of grandeur, eventual diagnosis and disability. Ironically the same pills that hold me together make it unable for me to write anything longer than a few paragraphs. I’m not saying I was ever good, probably pretty pretentious to most people, but I did enjoy doing it and that was taken away from me despite the fact overall I’m doing better now and just wish I’d never gone down the rabbit hole of “wanting to be a real writer, like, who writes for a living. And his own thing, too, no typistry.”

I go nuts if I don’t work. I enjoy manual labor. Started off roughnecking in the oil/methane fields when I was 17 (shhh don’t tell OSHA), and ended up in coal mining, and now am an EMT with fire certs and working on becoming a full fledged Paramedic.

Still don’t know what my dream job is though.

Hey, my dream job was marine biologist as well! When I was in school and looking at college, I saw how much math was required for marine biology so I passed on it. I was convinced that I hated math and was bad at it… however later in life I realized it was poor teaching, not me.

Now I am a payroll accountant and I love it. Ends up, I really love math!

I don’t really regret not being a marine biologist. Now it’s more of a hobby… not sure I would enjoy it as a career.

Sorry for your loss

The stress and health detriments are not worth the $12 an hour

I enjoy it :stuck_out_tongue:

Although the drop from coal mining salary hurt like a MOFO

Not well. I definitely didn’t dream about slaving away in a dirty factory all day.

Never had a dream job. Started working for one of the major package delivery companies at age 18 in 1988. Got sick in 09 though, and now disabled. 4 years from retirement eligibility when I got sick  Was vested with the company though, so it’s all good.

Why Anchorage Alaska? I visited a few years back. Weather was so brutal. I hated it. I was on a fishing boat and my jacket flew overboard and I was freezing the rest of the day lmao.

Summers are in the 60s, I like cold weather

I never really had a dream job, but I have a very fulfilling job currently that I am thankful for the experience from so far. I wouldn’t want to do it forever though.

I wanted to be a professional skateboarder or an actor. I’m working in real estate right now so it’s kind of like acting.
