Now that Layering abuse is being addressed

EVEN though literally everyone stated in beta that it is and WILL be abused to the max.

COULD we get a do over?

Like a complete re-launch with the amount of servers needed for the population we have right now?

Yea, just completely close the servers down, wipe everything and re-launch classic.

We all know how people are uber geared in pre bis now. We all know why we have people at level 40 in full decked out blue gear with blue weapons from every boss at their level.

We all know why people have ridiculous amounts of gold already. For those of us who chose not to abuse this god awful layering system could we get a do over?

I know the crybabies and crazies are gonna jump all up in this thread with there “looking down the nose” talking down to you attitudes but its a funny thought.

I also enjoy those replies from people who think they’re better than everyone else and think the crap they spew out is funny while giggling and beating their chest IRL.

Actiblizz is the only company I know that has to re launch a 15 year old version of itself to save the franchise because of subs dropping at a historical rate AND Screw it up all over again lol.

But seriously, who would be down for a re launch? 3rd times a charm?

No, I don’t particularly want to level 10 characters (2 accounts) to level 12 again.
The “Darnassus Run” (x6) alone was annoying enough.

Ban the offenders. The rest will sort itself out.

I’d be ok with it, give me 1 month free sub time to compensate.

You sir, I like the way you think.

Re launch classic AND compensate us!

The biggest offenders being a majority of the streamers… Do you really think they’re going to ban some of the more popular streamers like soda or ven? lol

If I’m forced to start again I’m through.

Accounts need to be perma’d or at the very least three month’d. Possibly have MC loot in guilds rolled back but realistically, if there isn’t an example made of somebody this will be a really big problem for Blizzard. I really hate saying people need to be punished but this is just plain obvious.

When you have streamers blatantly doing this now, especially since there’s proof out there of them doing it and taking advantage of it. It’s a really hard thing to say they need to be banned because they’re streamers and that isn’t the point, but we can’t afford Blizzard setting a precedent of, or giving the implication of there being a two tiered justice system. They need to be even handed.

If people are going to get 6 month’d in BFA because they spammed a few daily quests times a day to boost their reputation above where it should be, having extra MC lockouts worth of loot should warrant worse but the same would be acceptable too.

Do you honestly believe they’re going to perma streamers?

Because there are plenty of VODs out there of streamers abusing layers. I was in guild with a bunch of them on Faerlina and A REQUIREMENT for being in the guild was to use a LayeringHHH channel and be open to helping people jump layers on a constant basis.

I’m sure some new realms like the Diablo ladder refreshes will be added in the future. Makes too much sense not to do it.

Start all over

No, I don’t. Which is why I made the point of “but we can’t afford Blizzard setting a precedent of, or giving the implication of there being a two tiered justice system. They need to be even handed.”

If they actually cuck out of punishing people on this it’s going to destroy any credibility Classic has. Especially when you don’t ban people and it very visibly comes off as “Oh well it’s because they’re popular.”

This is what the beta should have tested.

Beta is for testing the dueling capability of classes at levels 30 and 40 clearly.

Still annoys me this essentially meta of “Oh well we value publicity over QA!” when it comes to giving testing to streamers who won’t test a damn thing. Especially people like Tipsout who don’t even know how to play the game (WOTF breaks Polymorph in this guy’s eyes) but because they have a stream it’s more important.

They might ban people sure? If the point is to make everyone aware that someone was banned, well they just don’t do that. They will come out and say “People caught abusing such and such have been punished accordingly”…

How do we know they don’t just make this stuff up? We have FACTUAL evidence that streamers have been abusing layering, pretty hardcore to. If they are not banned why am I to believe anyone else was?

I won’t and I will probably move on like so many others? We wanted the classic experience right? Well getting the exact experience just isn’t possible in 2019. Could it have been close? Sure it could have.

But starting out with a system in place that is literally ab usable just by party invites was a poor choice. Was layering needed? That is debatable, but definitely needed considering how poorly they under estimated how bad BFA really is and how many people wanted classic. Maybe it was a resource thing? (money). Maybe they just generally believed “You think you do but you really don’t”…

I think they’re learning lessons here that should have already been learned 5x over from the past and that is really disappointing.

This is crazy and would never happen.

However, if they did a new server with no layering I would seriously consider rolling there. Just the thought that everything is legitimate is very appealing. But still, abandoning my level 40 to start over…problem not gonna happen if even the option existed.

You’re correct. There is a 0% chance they would ever re-launch classic lol. It was a joke but knowing what we know now about the abuse of a system they put in place is also a joke.

Especially when they were told 100x over that this system would be abused by EVERYONE. Not that we all abused it but I think you get the idea considering.

Classic wow is a tool used to funnel people into the live game.

They knew layering was exploitable, they let it go because typically if classic wow is abused or exploited more than likely people will go to live realms while a smaller amount quit.

They did, they knew, they ignored.

Its only when it becomes a problem that they address this type of thing there were many many conversations on how layering would be exploited.

I don’t agree with this and from a marketing standpoint given the #s and subs disappearing with BFA it literally makes zero sense.

Why use classic to funnel subs into Retail when classic was re released to make up the sub difference because the majority hate retail…

So your idea to get subs back on a game that the majority hate enough to UN SUB is to release classic to get them back to playing a game they un subbed for? That makes no sense and this is how you go broke in marketing terms.

Classic is here to boost sub # count and hold on for as long as possible until they can pull a 180 on the BFA system.

BFA is dead in the water and they know it. I guarantee the next expansion will be a complete 180 from BFA, it has to be. There is no way a multi billion dollar company makes the same mistake AS bad as BFA. Sure they have made some face palm worthy changes but mistakes on a BFA level will not be made on the next expansion.

New no layer servers with 1 month of free time and everyone will probably forget about it. Layer abusers get to stay at their places and people who don’t like it can go trot around in the new grassy field.
