Now that Devine Light has been nuked from orbit with the nerf gun

With that insane 8 second cooldown, the spell is next to useless beyond the tank’s initial pull of a mob group. Which if that’s the case, why have it heal? Just rename it to Divine Shield, make it a mirror of priest shields and have it give the “Forbearance” debuff to who we cast it on.

As currently, at over 900 mana, Devine Light is essentially on paper, worse than regular vanilla’s Holy Light cast. Which itself you didn’t want to cast unless you have Divine Favor up so you could crit the heal and give a HoT to your target. I had finally, in phase 4 as a Holy Pally with the tools SoD Runes gave me, felt like an actual healer and not just a Flash of Light bot. Sigh…

I am kind of interested in this one. I saw the rogue and hunter nerfs coming but I play DPS so it was obvious to me.

From what I saw on the charts Paladin’s were gapping other healing classes. Was the nerf warranted? Should Blizz have addressed it a different way?

3/3 back runes for paladin are a total disgrace right now.

I would take the nerf of divine light if they Made it instant / 1 sec cast time, But right now it’s pretty dumb.

Righteous vengeance rune sucks and beneficts 0 the paladin most of the times, his counterpart in shaman buffed 60% damage from flame shock which spreads to 5 targets and don’t need to crit to start doing something. And plus 2 more effects in the same cloak rune.

Devs are a total disgrace when they need to touch paladin.

It is interesting that Shaman received a buff the same time holy Paladin was nerfed.
the counter argument for Shamans dominating PVE and PVP in damage specs was that Holy Paladins had been OP.
i wonder what they will say now?

They label us a support class yet Hunters and shamans bring more to the table than us currently.
This support class label limits us in damage and other areas yet other classes are allowed to thrive

it’s literally just a knee jerk response to hpals crying about healing parses because people were getting 100 healing parses (lmao who cares) by spamming only divine light.

2.5 second cast with 8 second cooldown is pretty lol :expressionless:

good change, can actually use other heals now

Yeah, dust of that ole reliable flash of light kek.

I agree with that one guy that said make it instant cast for the 8 sec CD and massive mana cost.

PvP healing is now tougher to do. DL was strong enough to offset the insane damage.

Most Paladins are Rets, so this was more of a nerf to their healing. Which is good. You can’t have it all guys

if the healing done in logs are anything to go by, it was 100% deserved lol

Well…where does that leave Holy? Weaker at healing. Especially in PvP.

holy paladins still have strengths that no other healer can match, divine light was to powerful with out some limitation on it.

Yes, but now what in PvP? Holy Light? Its weak and expensive. I never liked DL. It was just a stronger HL, which is not very creative.

DL was strong enough to heal through the insane damage of SoD.

pvp is just broken for healers all together, this is not paladin issue but to much burst and not enough mitigation, the devs seems to forget that cc and interrupts should be needed in pvp but with the burst available why cc a healer when you can kill him in a few sec or ignore the healer and out dps his heals.

Nerfing healers/healer ability makes zero sense to me. No one wants to play healers already, they shoudl be making healing specs as attractive as possible

So go back to only spamming flash of light then? How incredibly dull. The nerf to an already expensive mana spell (The most of ALL our heals) that is also a two and a half second cast, is BONKERS level of a nerf.

i still use dl and hl, don’t see the problem

I hardly ever use HL. FoL spam does the job. Especially with Holy Shock in the mix. HL is weak.
