Seriously, what better way to combat the Alliance’s image problem than putting a literal burning zombie on the throne?
Also, Bolvar is badass and he deserves a replacement throne for the one he lost. Anduin can go back to his king training camp in the meanwhile.

Reminder that Anduin being king is actually Sylvanas’s fault, because Vol’jin and Varian dying on the Broken Shore was apparently her plan the entire time.
Funnily enough, it would seem Sylvanas’s master plan even caught Blizzard itself by surprise.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Bolvar around more often. After that cinematic, even with him being defeated, his character design is my kind of eye candy. 
Let’s be fair, we don’t actually know that he’s not the Lich King any more.
Say what? Everything the Lich King was, was in that crown. That crown held the spirit of Ner’zhul. For all intents and purposes the Lich King should be dead. Unless they are going to say Ner’zhul was sent to the shadowlands now and blah blah blah but no. I believe that was the final death for Ner’zhul and without him there is no Lich King. Heck, there isn’t even another Eredar Demon Lord to make a new Lich King like Kil’jaedon did with the orc shaman Ner’zhul.
Presumably, everything that made Bolvar the Lich King is now gone.
Edit: To be more accurate it was the Helm of Domination that granted the powers of the Lich King. Strangely the wikki says that Arthas actually had more control than Ner’zul but I find that hard to believe. The Helm must warp peoples personalities but the wikki doesn’t appear to have any indication of this. I’m not sure what else could explain the transformation of Ner’zhul and Arthus had while merged with the Helm. I don’t believe that that’s just who they were naturally. Obviously Bolvar was not the same once the Helm took control of them. I’ve decided to accept the wikki isn’t all knowing.

That crown can be reforged. They discussed learning of the hrlms origins and meeting the blacksmith. He’s still gonna be Lich King unless Blizz decides to do something where we dont need one and lets Bolvar RIP 
Sounds like the helm will be the equivalent of a SL legendary.
Maybe the expansion plot twist will be Sylvanus gaining more and more power over the undead through her covenant with the Jailer, anima snorting, or whatever other cause and then being locked in a new helm by Bolvar so that he can go back to being the Lich King.
They said we’re visiting the “Forge of Domination”, so presumably that ties into the new origin of the helmet. If they made it once, they can probably fashion something similar again to fulfill the same role of controlling the undead. It will be just like Thor getting his new weapon in Infinity War. Maybe Bolvar will don the reforged helmet so that his cool new design otherwise used for one cutscene doesn’t completely go to waste.
The dragon aspect will forge a tier 1000 set armor for Bolvar and he will become the first ever Dragon Knight Champion in WoW with Talia Fondragon as his squire

Why do you guys want another Lich King? We were perfectly fine before we had one we’ll be fine again. Instead of pumping out new bad guys.
