Dark Age of Camelot raids had mechanics, things didn’t start with WoW
Oh no he said DM.
Which dungeon is he talking about boy?
I assume dead mines. Which is most alliance players first dungeon, and it does have a couple places where it opens up.
The other linear dungeons like SM and UBRS and wings of a larger dungeon that blizzard decided to cut out and create a seperate instance for. Which wasnt so bad.
So yea. Some dungeons are more linear than others in classic. And thats fine.
I thought delves were the children of an elf and a dwarf
for the 20 people that played DAOC. The big jump was from EQ to WoW.
r o f l m a o… LMAO
Your big jump has nothing to do with what I wrote.
In the current dungeons in Retail you have to constantly be moving around to avoid fire nonstop which is not fun
Are you saying there are no mechanics in classic so you can just stay there and auto attack mobs?
They’ve improved a lot visually. I can tell what is soak and what is avoid at a glance, even before checking journal.
you can just stay there and auto attack mobs?
All bosses are patchwerk obviously.
I really wish that rather then screen barf everywhere, that more of “rock paper scissors” or utility mechanisms were used… Outside of the current meta DPS spec, I think there is too little uniqueness brought to fights by the classes these days. Tank/Healer/DPS doesn’t seem to be enough anymore. Especially considering Tank/Healer are really forced roles. Think about medics in games like battlefield. Medics in other games are not forced to basically play a completely different game / set of mechanics (they can actually do damage, etc)
I really think they could do much more rock/paper/scissors (think spearman, cavalry, archers in games like Total War) mechanics that could really make the game more interesting. It would probably take a whole new game though. Basically taking advantage of the differences between physical damage dealers, magic wielders, ranged, armor, to actually add tactics to the game, instead of just relying on kicks and dodging floor barf . Although this would probably require an entirely new game.
Yes. That is what I am saying. All you have to do in Classic is move your character to the enemy and face the enemy and attack. I like that
I’m all for games not necessarily being overly taxing, but how do you not find “walk up and stand there” gameplay boring after the second run or so of a dungeon?
Bad/old computers?
Nostalgia blind?
“Hipster” who’s into the “retro” graphics? "Because you can see the “yadda yadda” in the “who gives a crud?”
I cleared Palace on LFR, I’ve done enough lol.
Just letting you know, most of your Classic Andy drivels ended with a “lol”.
I have no idea whether to take you seriously at this point. If you’re from my generation, then holy crap I really want to know how close you are to the Gen X subcategory. Because at this point it really sounds like you’ve made friends from the Boomer generation. And a lot of them.
Which is great, but… it’s time to catch up on a few things concerning ours. WoW is still a hard game. And the hardest part is taking the time to network and boast about how the game is actually good rather than just resorting to ye ol’ doomsayer mentality.
It’s pathetic. And you know it.
Yes. That is what I am saying.
Then all the power to you, bro. Go play classic!
No. I play Classic style in Retail. Sure it’s harder on the healers, but they manage to keep me up… even as I stand in the flames
That’s me yelling for my daily battle rez
“Men, ready your battle rez. I am feeling dangerous tonight. Now onward!”
Oh 100% agree with you on that one, best Diablo game by far and somehow is the most complex of the Diablo games. It’s an all-time great game.
You were the Paladin, Anduin! You were supposed to bring the battle rez, not be the one who needs it!
Lol im trying my best
Literally no healer I know in classic enjoys healing in retail currently. Almost every career healer I played with back in the day that still plays the game either plays Classic or stopped playing a healer in retail.
I’ve enjoyed coming back to what got me into healing and the game altogether.
