nah i prefer classic. for a healer i like watching mp5 and spell ranks, slower pace. acutally playing classic helped me play retail better lol.
Lol I havenāt played serious PvE since Wrath/Cataclysm, probably before this guy was even playing.
The peak of WoW, and honestly I pity folks who werenāt there to enjoy it.
Game isnāt anywhere near as fun as it used to be, they donāt even show numbers anymore.
āPlaying the gameā is more than just PvE.
Not accepting your L that you clearly earned?
Yikes, lack of humility and ability.
you arenāt good at that either.
Lol you canāt beat me in a duel, thatās all I legit care about.
Youāre a PvE player, PvP is a higher mountain to climb.
Duels mean nothing, but I will gladly duel you when I get home around 8:30AM.
I have 25 to choose from on this toon. So no, not 4-5 buttons. That is 25 spells to use even before I add spell ranks on which makes it much more. And fury in TWW has 34 buttons for me to choose from for my rotation.
Yeah, so do PvE achiements lol. No one cares about another personās stuff.
Go play Aug or whatever and get free points for being meta, big whoop. Or tank.
Iād rather play an engaging PvE RPG game like Elden Ring, or Monster Hunter, than stale old WoW PvE, because it got boring to me years ago.
Iāve been playing this game since 2004, and the combat is mostly the same, just faster. It got old over a decade ago.
25 button rotation? Iām not sure you know what a rotation isā¦ does that mean I have a 40+ button rotation as a druid?
You say that because you zero achievements that matter in PVE.
Yet here you are incapable of getting those achievementsā¦
I doubt you are good at those game either.
So 20 years and nothing to show for it, cool.
I think Iāve come to enjoy a decent amount of moving, but with a simple yet satisfying rotation w/ really short CDs + moderately high APM the most. Especially if I can maintain a high uptime on attacking enemies.
I donāt like getting zoned away from the enemies entirely ā that feels bad.
Too little moving is boring, and too complicated of a rotation isnāt fun either. (For me anyways).
DH would be really fun, but there are too many mechanics that punish you for moving without precision. Playing with a havoc DHās is also really frustrating cause they move all over the place and can get others killed/themselves killed with careless movement.
Not sure if there is really a good mix thatād work for everyone ā but I do think you can kinda tell to some degree what most people like based on what they play.
What do you mean thereās a whole Ulduar fight based around that concept? xd
Itās WoW, the McDonaldās of gaming.
I am sorry you think itās something impressive. It never really was.
More people have M+ mounts and stuff than PvP stuff like Vicious Saddle mounts, which Iāve got in spades.
https://www.dataforazeroth.com/collections/mounts
Just saying, I could do it if I wanted to, but I already have cool mounts, so the carrot of giving me an ugly golem just doesnāt work.
I donāt care what other people have done, this is about YOU. You said the game is easy, yet you have nothing in your history of the game that proves it, Iām not saying Iām goodā¦ but itās that immature mentality of yours screaming something is easy when you havenāt done it yourself.
Yeah thatās the point. Back in the day it was a gimmick on a few bosses like Heigan. Now itās every boss.
Just curious, I can understand why you might or might not enjoy LFR but how could it kill your desire to raid when it could easily be avoided?
Right. You stopped engaging with endgame about the time it stopped being brain dead easy.
Lol
Modern content has mechanics. Vanilla and Classic doesnāt.
Thatās the reason why some folks prefer the āmechanicsā of Classic ā¦ because it means that they donāt have to do anything.
I do have 25 buttons from which to choose from on this toon and that is BEFORE I add spell ranks to the bars.
Not in order but
1 Balefire bolt
2 fire blast
3 frost nova
4 wand shoot
5 Ice Lance
6 Scorch
7 Arcane Explosion
8 Blizzard
9 regen
10 evo
11 remove curse
12 polymorph
13 counterspell
14 deep freeze
15 ice barrier
16 frost bolt
17 firebolt
18 flamestike
19 cone of cold
20 blink
21 ice block
22 cold snap
23 frostfire bolt
24 arcane surge
25 arcane missiles.
All to choose from and very easy to do so not much there. Before macros and spell ranks added in.
M+ is Diablo Greater Rifts ripped out and put into WoW.
Iāve already engaged with the system over there, and itās why I donāt engage with it here- I find it to be lazy and dreadfully boring.
You know what else? M+ is scripted content, and you are spending 90% of the time waiting around for a group as a DPS, so Iād have to give up playing my class of choice for something like a Resto Sham or a Tank just to be able to play in the first place- I donāt have that sort of time anymore. So, I PvP instead.
PvP requires just as more, if not much more knowledge, because you have to understand enemy abilities and defensives and stuff, know when to trinket, know the map, know which classes are going to do what, go where, what they shine at, what you shine at, and where you should fit into all of that.
In M+, you only ever worry about yourself, and maybe waiting to not step on someone elseās interrupt with your own. Thatās basically it- the rest of the dungeon is as youāve done it before. Itās scripted content, itās not going to change, aside from the weekly affixes.
I donāt really Arena so I donāt speak on that, but battlegrounds are almost always more chaotic than M+ simply because thereās more people, and more going on in general.
Canāt say which one is harder because itās apples to oranges, but if I can reach Rival rating, which is the top 8% of PvPers in that given bracket or whatever, I can very likely reach Keystone Master, which is currently 14% of the playerbase.
Just saying, similar actions-per-minute, and situational awareness and all that. Iām very sure I could.
Iām just not interested in the reward, at all. And future seasons will be recolors (purple, orange), so my interest is kinda shot. I donāt want one of those golem things.
Because I very much liked the attunement process (they stopped doing these after TBC), and how raids were somehow there special places not everyone got to see. You really had to āearnā to see the raid, it felt like some epic adventure.
When you entered a raid, it evoked a unique feeling because it was ground that only a portion of a playerbase got to touch.
Now that itās no longer required, and you can just press a button, why not do the path or least resistance? So thatās what I did. For a while.
And, idk, raids no longer feel like raids anymore to me lol. Theyāre just a larger auto-queue dungeon, and are treated the same way.
Similar feelings to how we donāt go into the world for dungeons anymore, unless theyāre M+. It made the world feel bigger.
I get people like convenience, but itās made WoW feel more like a lobby game than a World of Warcraft.
Maybe if I still had friends that stuck with me, I wouldāve kept doing PvE. But it wasnāt fun alone.
The amount of -measuring on your part is significantly higher than literally anyone else in this thread.
You couldāve just said āEh, I like slower paced dungeons with no mechanics and since thatās not in retail anymore, I just like the PvPā and move on. Then you would have neither been measuring it nor shoving it into other peopleās faces.
As it stands, all you have said is āI donāt like mechanics ā¦ and PvP is the place I like!ā
Whichā¦ says a lot about what you think about PvP. Whether intentionally or unintentionally.
Jee golly, an essay!
Your does and donāts are your own dude, donāt careā¦ but if youāre going to say something is easy, you should have something to show that youāve done the content. I donāt care what youāve done in PVP, none of it is impressiveā¦ Iāve gotten rival twice and have a higher max rating, but Iāll tell you Iām not good and still have loads to learnā¦
