It is now obvious this isnt the same Ragnaros i fought time and time again in vanilla. No way APES would have made it to Rag in the first place without fire resist gear, let alone down him. I dont care how much they practiced on a private server, this is a watered down version of Molten Core. There us no other explaination for it. Even if you did the mechanics 100% perfect, without fire resist gear, it is impossible.
I dont think this will be possible in Nax unless that is some how also a watered down version.
You cant complete Molten Core without Fire resist gear. The fact the guys did it in greens proves something is wrong.
EDIT: Learning from others that this was the patch right before TBC, so catch up mechanics were in place and the content was made easier.

I didn’t play back in Vanilla, so I don’t have any direct knowledge of this. But one of our guildies was in Nax back in vanilla and I recall him telling us before the Classic launch that we only needed resist gear in molten core IF we were bad players lol. He was stressing resist gear for the later raids though.

I am going to agree.
Back in the day if you missed your shield block you were getting one shotted without proper defense items, and that was on trash molten giants.
That being said, gratz to them.

Coming from someone who’s actually enjoying his time running through memory lane in Classic right now - God these are all such excellent sodium.
After years and years of people who had no clue what they were talking about emitting legendary amounts of smug wherever they went, it is such sweet comeuppance to see them being smacked over the head by reality.

Lotta nerfs happened for upcoming tbc.
I think the OP remembers pre-nerf but we already had the content on farm so we didnt care.
The sad part that there are people in this very thread who actually think OP is being serious.
Obviously youre just being salty. Its the same. It just seemed hard back in the day because no one knew what they were doing
lol, MC was always easy. When ZG came out, people used ZG to skip MC entirely and go ZG to BWL.
It’s a nerfed version of Ragnaros with different itemization. Patch 1.12 MC is barely an echo of the patch he was actually released in and his state before his nerf. That’s the issue here. He wasn’t “changed” we’re just playing him in a much later patch where he was already nerfed. They’ll need to consider buffing raids back to the levels they were at for the patch they were launched in.
