Last week I was ilvl 620, and was crushing 10-11 keys with ease. This week I crafted a bunch of gear and got to ilvl 625. However, my health is all over the place, and Im not playing any differently. Like, went from never dying, to close to being one shot and having roller coaster health. I know we got nerfed on a dps level, but not a defensive one as far as I know. And my stats are 28% crit/ 26% haste and 20% mastery. My vers is at 2% I think.
I cannot figure out whats happening. I feel like im having to try 2x as hard on stuff that I was doing very easily just a week ago. The only thing I can think of is that before i crafted my gear, my Vers was at like 10% or a little over, and now its much lower.
Were you doing all 10s?
Fortified / Tyrannical buffs the health and damage of npcs. At 10, both fort/tyrannical is always active but if you were doing lesser keys it could be that.
This week prior to today was fortified. 20% increased damage from trash and have 20% more health.
also, did you lose vers when gaining that ilvl? vers is huge for tanks.
Your Mastery is too low so you are taking unblocked spell damage. You need ~25.75% Mastery to have 51% block chance and with talents it goes up to 99% spell block. 52% block chance for 100% spell block.
In addition to spell block, you are also taking more damage from regular white hits and physical abilities because of the same.
You went with a high Crit build for Parry, but that doesn’t work well in some of the dungeons.
Edit:
So with 9,925 mastery points, it increases block chance by 26.2% and damage reduction from Consecration by 12.3%.
With 5,816 mastery points (20%), it drops to 20.3% block chance and 10.7% damage reduction from Consecration.
Essentially, you are 6% more likely to take an unblocked hit (assuming it’s not parried or dodged) and 1.6% more damage overall from the difference in Consecration.
So defensively, I want Mastery over Crit? I figured Crit was better for parry/damage. Thanks for explaining all of that by the way. Didnt think anyone would.
Crit and parry is good, but you can’t parry spells and the chance to parry boss abilities is too low because it’s only reliable with trash from our “Strength in Adversity” talent. There’s certain dungeons where crit stacking is good, but unless you are going to carry around 2 gear sets then you are better off with a Haste/Mastery to 52% block/Crit for an all-arounder.
I wonder how much its going to cost me to recraft my gear lol. Also, thanks again. I do upwards of 5-6mil dps depending on the pull, but thats only in 10-11 keys. Im aiming to do 12s before the season ends for fun. But Id rather be alive than trying to dish out dps with a spiky health bar.
