When you’re max’d out in Classic, what else to do other than do raids?
Farm For Gold
To support our individual raiding, we farm gold for us to be able to buy Flasks, Health Potions, Mana Potions, Agility (Stats) Potions, a full quiver of Thorium Shells (Hunter’s), etc for our next raid. These are around 50g or more… per raid night. How many hours can I farm 50g? I need to render 2 to 3 hours of farming to get that.
How do you farm gold in Classic to satisfy these raiding needs? There’s no Daily Quests/No Emissary Chests. Farm for hundred of Boars and hope a BoE drops?
Run 5-man Dungeons thousand times. If you have already the loot youre looking for, why run the same dungeons again? Run it for fun? What’s fun on doing it on the same “Normal” difficulty?
Farm Reputation. Thorium Brotherhood might be ok. How about Timbermaw? Kill 300 Furbolgs just to be friendly? How many Strat UD/Scholo I need to be exalted with Argent Dawn? And doing it on the same “Normal” difficulty?
We do the same activities in Retail. But it’s not as frustrating or tedious.
Farm for gold in Retail. It has WoW token and it’s cheap and legit. I can skip all the farming acitivites… go straight to AH and buy all my raiding stuffs and go straight to raiding. Actually BFA has improved to include around 4k gold on Paragon Chests. It actually eliminates the buying of WoW token for raid stuffs. And all we have to do is just do our daily emissaries… That’s it.
Run 5-man Dungeons thousand times… but in increasing difficulty… Mythic+. It has affixes on higher keys and it’s different every week. Dungeon difficulties can accomodate everyone: M+0 to M+3 for Normal Casuals, M+4 to M+7 for those who wants challenge and M+8 to M+10 and above for those who want Hellish Nightmare mode.
Farm Reputation. You just do daily quests or emissaries once per day for that faction and in few weeks, you get revered/exalted. No swet.
Other Activities… Brawler’s guild, timewalking dungeons, heroic warfront, Battle Pets, Collection of Mounts, Collection of Battle Pets, Collection of Hunter Pets, etc.
What else to do at max level? Make an alt? Can I not make another alt in Retail? Whatever Classic has, Retail has it too. Then many Classic defenders would say character customization is better in Classic.
Character customization during leveling is fun. But it results into 1 or 2 specs when you start raiding or your guild would kick you for not following the correct required specs of your class. How is this raiding specs differ from simple specs of Retail?
I play both Classic and Retail. I had less playing time in Retail (just doing 1x M+10 per week) when my Classic toon was leveling. But now my Classic toon is max’d out, I got frustrated to realize again the max level activities as I was a Naxx40 raider in Vanilla. Looks like I would bring back more play time in Retail when there’s nothin fun to do in Classic
-Farm gold for mount
-farm gold for raid consumables and repairs
-farm raid consumables directly
-make an alt
-make a farm
-play other games
-pay attention to your dog
-go outside
A proper video game doesn’t have to entertain you every second of every minute of every hour of every day of your life. as you peter out of content, it’s ok to not play wow as much and be there for raids.
A group of people on my server kited Teremus the Devourer from Blasted Lands into SW and killed a bunch of low levels a few days ago. There’s always ways to keep yourself amused in game.
Supposedly the difference between retail and classic is that in retail you have constant daily tasks you need to do to not fall behind and continue your progression
Classic doesn’t have this, so you have the freedom to choose what you want to do at 60, such as professions, pvp, helping guildies with stuff, etc
I personally would rather be bored but have freedom to choose what I want rather than have a bunch of dailies which feel like a 2nd job I’m clocking in for
I mean that’s obvious right? Retail is the same game but with expansions added, it has the original content plus extra.
Retails problem is not it’s content but how content is delivered. If people think other like classic more because of the content then frankly you don’t understand what about classic appeals to people.
Mechanics and content are far more advanced in retail, but the design philosophy and how the game plays has changed a lot.
Give me an open experience where I can choose what I want to do over telling me what I should be doing any day.
I can pick up and put down classic at any time and not be worse off which not the same can be said about retail. When working I don’t have the time to grind embassies every 3 days, raid, do a M+, complete islands for my weekly, fill my conquest cap, do LFR for auguments etc before I can really do anything else. Yet your character is severely punished in power if they are unable to do so, and they are adding more required weekly content in patch 8.3.
I don’t have the time, nor the inclination to follow Blizzard’s laundry list of “things to do for massively increased reward” that is a requirement of retail.
Classic for me is better because it doesn’t try and force me to play, I go on and do what ever I want and log off. Any 2 hours I put in the game is exactly the same as any other 2 hours wether it’s at a specific time or if it’s broken up. That’s what I like about classic.
Welcome to classic warcraft. What else did you expect? A ton of new end game content? You have exactly what you should have already expected. They never promised anything other than what was originally in the game. If you’re upset because the rest of the new content isn’t coming fast enough, then this is a different point to be made, than what you made.
There is literally so much to do!
But I had a look at your guild name and it explains a lot
If anything you have more to do in game than the rest of us…
Isnt there a streamer you should be blindly following and funnelling gear/mats to?
Surely he would not be impressed with your apparent lack of effort
