Nothing pisses me off more than blizzard acting like everything is fine

Market Cap isn’t the same thing as the market value of the company, the latter is influenced by a whole bunch of different factors.

Epic games is a private company. a month or so ago some investors threw over a billion at them. I’m not sure what you are talking about, to be honest. Fortnite is the money maker the inudstry wants though, they(AvtiBlizz) want overwatch to be fortnite financially, same with all their games. That is the kind of constant income the industry wants, hence why you see games coming out with very similar pricing structures anymore.

AssCreed, Lord of the Rings, Battlefront, Battlefield, New CoD, and ect. Everything is moving to a similar system right now. Why do you think that is? The point is, Blizzard is doing to the same thing, changing their design structure to chase the same type of money. You dont have to believe me, that’s fine. The proof is in the results, microtransactions are the bread and butter to publicly traded companies, because it makes the game industry a safer investment, and if you wana get stupid rich you wana be publicly traded.

Once in a great while you will have unique situations like Bethesda, but that is rare. I would expect Epic to go public in the next year, unless they want to be like Valve/Beth.

Well Diablo immortal was put on hold for China. China put a stop on it, until more censorship was done on the game. So yes stocks will drop. Honestly its been proven time and again, with how the Chinese government is, China is not the most stable market place to invest in.

At this point, just go read up on this site. Will help you alot XD, will at least get the fundamentals down. Me and some of the other guys can explain it on this post as much as we want. But can just use blizzard as an example to fully understand the market.

Search different topics on the site, and they usually have a video to help understand it too.

The amount mental gymnastics these fanboys have to go through to keep supporting Activiblizz is nothing short of astounding.

I agree everything is not fine. It goes back to Ion saying “You think you do but you don’t” mentality. Time gating content, Titanforging, iLvL Scaling, class unbalances, GCD, list goes on and on. I guess it takes a game shut down for them to notice.

I have seen these things starting the same way on rift , warhammer online game ,age of Conan and other countless mmo .the only example I have seen of bounce back is in case of eso , wow and ff14 .rest of the mmo have just died out .these three mmo always bounce back from bad to good . I am pretty hopeful wow will bounce back much better in next expansion.till then I will have fun here and there in this expansion .
I bought eso subscription so that whenever I get bored of wow I switch to eso and vice versa.

I don’t tbink the devs lack passion bud. I agree there is a huge problem at blizz now but I think it’s coming from higher up. Activision has finally infiltrated Blizzard and it shows.

The devs aren’t allowed the time they need and aren’t allowed to release great games anymore. Activision just wants a quick cash grab.

Its not just China either, you have a pretty large spotlight being brought up by a lot of western countries now. This whole industry is going too see some pretty heavy handed regulations in the next 5 years; unless they can bribe there way out of it. The game industry is the last place I would want my money at the moment.

Its kind of like when customers act like Blizzard is acting like everything is fine. They’re not, in any way, acting like everything is fine. They basically just ended any major investment in HotS yesterday. People are losing their jobs. Pay is being cut.

What on earth are you talking about? You even cite some of these things in your rant.

Worst thing they can do is misinterpret why BFA has not been well received. Listen to the people giving good feedback. Put more time into class design, focus on fun engaging content instead of just more content. Look at when the game was successful and build upon that. Stop the throwaway gear systems, give us class progression again.

One thing I have noticed is revenue. Square Enix has made 40 billion more, then Activision/Blizzard this year. Says a lot about giving your players what they want, even though stocks are down for them all.

It’s going to be bad lol.

Why would they make a new expansion if this was the case? If anything, by your reasoning, this would tie them to WoW even longer.

If they wanted WoW to die, why not just stop making expansions? They are certainly not obligated to create new content for us just because we bought X amount of expansions.

There’s a way to kill a game/franchise. You don’t just stop making it the day you want to stop.

This didn’t even start at Blizzcon. It started when the share price traded below $80.00 for the first time the first week of October. Profit takers started selling, massive volumes of shares were traded (over 20 million on Oct 18 alone). That started the downward momentum. People with more Blizz knowledge than me can link that to whatever happened in game.

THEN Blizzcon hit and investors bailed big time to the tune of 34.5 MILLION shares traded in ONE DAY (Nov 9) and closing at $55.01. Downward momentum continues.

Momentum (that’s an investor trend thing) has continued downward ever since, with a slight uptick in the last few days. ATVI opened at $47.47 this morning. Even with the slight uptick, PSAR still shows a downward trend. Anyone saying “BUY” right now is wrong.

Blizzard is doing the usual planned release of paid micro-transactions in time to pad it’s Q4 numbers to placate very angry investors who have lost a LOT of money (on paper) if they’ve held this turkey instead of dumping in October or November. There’s ALWAYS a sale, shop mount or pet at the end of EVERY quarter. Always. Take it to the bank. Tokens and Shop are the future for WoW.

The TLDR is this: the only way Blizz/ATVI is going to listen to us is if we stop consuming the product. So…even though I desperately want to plunk down the 200K gold on a couple of tokens for the flying fox mount…not gonna do it. Also not buying anymore tokens to extend my sub. It’s the best I can do since I’ve been a cash free sub since tokens came out.

Now I’m a borderline alcoholic; but I don’t want to die.

i can think of a lot of things that piss me off more than blizzard acting like everything is fine. i can list a couple

  1. the average price of a new car is now 30,000
  2. having rent that costs over 1300 dollars in an apartment, in a middle class town.

if something blizzard is doing is the thing that pisses you off the most, you are in good shape

BfA needs a lot of work if it is to be turned into a great expansion. There are some good ideas here that have been badly implemented. These things take time and resources though, and we don’t know how much of the second one these guys are being given.

I’m not trying to make excuses here, but they can’t just snap their fingers and fix everything, or they would have by now. And by all means, if you feel that voting with your wallet by unsubbing until things get better, go for it! That sends a message too.
