First let me say I’m not trolling, I’m a stickler when it comes to some sort of “reality” when it comes to aspects of the game. I don’t use mounts I don’t believe could carry the weight of my character which I know is ridiculous in a world of mayhem and magic but it’s always been a thing of mine, but I digress.
I know next to nothing about horses, could a real life one hold the weight of a full grown tauren male? I have a really cool horse mount I want to use on my hunter but it bothers me using the mount because I feel the horse would buckle under the weight of my character, what is the approximate weight of a tauren male and could a horse carry it effectively?
i don´t think so.
I would think a Tauren make weighs more than your average horse. The horse would likely get it’s spine broken
Likely not, honestly very few creatures would be able to comfortably carry that sort of weight for long… which is why they were Tauren had the Plainsrnning ability.
That aside. all I could think of at first…
Tauren can be Paladins. The Paladin class mounts are all horses. Imagine if the Highlord were canonically a Paladin, and they couldn’t ride their own mounts.
It’s probably a case of “anything is possible with magic.”
Funny you say that.
I noticed a lvl 60 Tauren with 0 posts - you. With heritage armor. So I don’t think you are a new player that stumbled on the Story Forum. You seem a Troll who wanted to be a Cow that says stuff that may be controversial.
That is my estimation of you for a while. Now, you are at 80 posts.
I try not to be rudely suspicious, but when I see a new poster go from 0 to 80, and flippin their script - I would mention it. Especially when you start a thread couched in such terms.
It seems like the ground work of a Troll.
They ride kodos for a reason.
I literally just wanna know if I’m gonna crush this horse man
Having played one third of the guild Taurens Three , I can definitely say that the Tauren Paladin mounts are Kodos. Although a glyph can make them horses.
Oh, I just meant the Legion Class Hall mounts. Didn’t realise I left that part out.
I didn’t see a mention of which horse.
So far this expac, I ride the Fallen Charger as a Ground Mount. It really matches my 'Mog.
The Fallen Charger is a Horsey. But a Ghosty Horsey - he could carry a Tauren, I am sure.
I guess it depends on the Horse.
No matter how ridiculous you look, you will not break the horse.
Have you ever seen Pelagos mounted? He’s the tall member of Blue Man Group and his mounti s sized for a normal human.
Tauren are bull/cow people and very large ones at that, so I’d wager they weigh between 900-2000 lbs (the weight range for aurochs)
Horses aren’t supposed to be able to support more than 400 lbs without issues.
Realistically, no but ~magic~.
In Northrend, certain Vrykul are known to be death knights and have horse mounts. Vrykul are sometimes thought to be larger than Tauren.
So in this specific case, whenever I play a Tauren death knight, I like to think his mount was bred for Vrykul riders, explaining why it can carry him.
Sorry if this doesn’t help, it’s just a very specific example I thought would help.
Realistically, Dragons could not exist, much less fly… Period, end of story. So lets unburdenourselves from the idea that this game is at ALL “realistic”.
as a 6 foot five blue person with ears as long as my arms, i am well aware.
just answering op
If it really bothers you that much, stick to your kodos and go to Northrend and get a protodrake.
Interestingly enough I remember a Mulgore Tauren RPer who maintained a disgust toward his Highmountain cousins riding moose.
“Hooves should not ride hooves.”
