Not wanting to join discord in RBG

Seems to be such an issue. My stance is that RBG’s are competitive - if you join a group with the requirement of good communication - and then make a fus about it or dont join - like what the heck - see so much of this -

Please seek yolo no discord ones or perhaps just queue for regular battlegrounds since what that means is you want to solo…

Voice requires a degree of knowledge to use, and while it can be good for getting people on the same page more often than not it’s a bunch of people spouting off a bunch of information that isn’t exactly useful. Just, like, audio clutter.

RBGs also seem to be in a bit of a weird, inactive spot right now, and I’d recommend just chilling until Dragonlands.

^ This.

If I’m joining discord, it better be clear comms and the only call-outs being made are useful ones by the team leader or by people who know wtf they’re doing. But it’s never that. There’s always someone with a low-quality mic full of static, or someone whose keyboard is queueing up their mic because they don’t know how to adjust the sensitivity settings. It’s just easier to focus without that stuff happening in my earhole.

There’s no need to join voice nowadays. It’s been the same “strategy” for the past decade. RBGs, Raids, M+, anything like that. It’s all the same pattern every time you do it. Unless you’re pushing rank 1, training for the MDI, or whatever the case, you don’t need voice for anything in WoW. If you’re just pugging, you definitely don’t need voice comms.

I’ve been in some disgustingly good yolo rbgs.

I would get on the discord and just say help me with no context

Right up there with “I’m dead” and not “4 inc, we’re going to lose stables” or “green orb going down in a few seconds here, somebody move to pick it back up”.
