Not sure if I should get wow

Wow has taken a interest into me and I have tried the free trial however I’m still not sure whether it is worth getting, I have never really played a MMORPG before and based on the free trial I am not sure how much content is in WoW and what exactly I could do and how long those things can last in terms of entertainment.

The wow world is huge. You would need to play several characters for a long, long time to see all of it.
There’s 14 years of content to consume.

There are games like PvP, raiding, pets, collections, etc., within the game that some spend years playing.

I’ve been playing wow on and off since Vanilla, and yet the game has never had more content than its gained over the past couple years. Whether you want to level new chars, do high end raiding, dungeons, pvp, Quest chains, Rep farms, battle pets, mount/mog farming, gearing, collecting, or just socializing, the game has a staggering amount of content that’s still engaging. I can not recommend it enough.

The thing to know about MMOs is that they are constantly evolving. WoW has been around for something like 15 years now, so there’s 15 years-worth of content for you to explore, discover, and experience.

Even if you limit yourself to a single type of content, you should get at least 2 solid years of play in before you start getting bored or wanting to narrow your focus further. It took me about 2 and a half expansions to get to that point (~5 years), and some people always find things to interest them.

So then what would be the best version to purchase at first because I am aware that if you get enough gold you can purchase in game time

There are two basic purchases, $15 for 30 days of game time, and $45-50 for the BfA upgrade.

Option 1: the Complete Collection is both for $60, but can only be applied to new accounts (like yours). It’s good for when you’re positive you want to devote some time and money to WoW.

Option 2: if you aren’t sure, just pay for game time to access everything up to level 110, and decide whether or not you want to continue to 120 with BfA later for $50.

Either way, the majority of players will be doing endgame content at level 120, which means upgrading to BfA. The big draw for MMO’s is the ability to interact with other people – some would rather do their own thing while there are other players running around too, some prefer doing lots of group content such as PvP and raiding, many are somewhere in between and just like to socialize, but don’t have to be constantly grouped with others. If you find that you enjoy group activities, at some point you’re probably going to want that BfA upgrade so you can participate in the current content. There’s still more than a year of BfA left though, so no rush to upgrade if you don’t want to yet.

Buy one month of game time. You’ll have access to everything but Battle for Azeroth content, which you’d be unlikely to reach in one month anyway depending on your pace. By the end of one month you’ll know if the game is for you.

I would go with just purchasing the month of game time to check things out.
When your game time lapses, your account reverts back to starter account restrictions so you can continue to make and play characters up to level 20 even without time on the account.

You are not likely to make enough gold to purchase additional time until you’re a much higher level character. It’s possible to get enough gold below level 90-110, but not likely.

If you decide to go ahead and purchase the game and want another new player to level up with, hit me up! I just started and am looking for people to play with

Its where I’m going as soon as I can. I think the poster is right though. It may just not be for them and can find another game that fits his/her living.
