Not sure if I like Classic

I’m not stranger to difficult content, but the problem with Classic for me is that it isn’t difficult, in fact it is brain dead easy, it is just just extremely repetitive for me personally. Go here, kill this, collect these and kill those for literally no reason, oop seems you’re too low level for this area so you need to relocate and get meaningful XP without having to fight red level mobs, now you’ve got to go back and forth between these two areas as you attempt to suck every little drop of XP you can just you push you closer and closer to leveling and getting to the end game content that you know is amazing but you have to invest so much willpower in keeping yourself playing and not thinking about fun games such as; Bannerlord, Mordhau, Animal Crossing, Breath of the Wild, etc.

I want to get to 60 and do max level content, it is just difficult to stay awake or interested when all you do is kill and collect or run half across Azeroth to give someone a meaningless item that holds no value to you in a world where the story is non-existent. I love vanilla dungeons, I love running them back to back, the only problem is that no one else wants this. I love grouping up with players and questing together and making new friends, but the world seems so barren now with only a few people leveling and many of which aren’t interested in grouping up to have an easier time. Those who do rarely talk and never want to do more than a handful of quests together.

I just want to know HOW I can stay interested long enough to get to that golden level 60 and do the content I’ve always wanted to do; events, Benediction, dungeons, raids, PvP!

Uh. I’m actually level 21. Don’t know why it says level 16.

Classic is as difficult as you’re willing to make it. Early on, players will notice that killing a green level mob is much easier than killing a yellow level mobs, which is much easier than killing an orange level mob. They’ll also notice that killing mobs 1 at a time is much easier than killing them 2 at a time, which is much easier than killing them 3 at a time. However, there’s more rewards for killing higher level mobs and for killing multiple mobs.

Now we have the most basic understanding of classic difficulty. Should you choose, you can kill green level mobs 1 at a time for an easy experience. Or you can kill harder mobs and/or multiple mobs to progress faster, but it’ll be more difficult.

It’s not killing mods that I find difficult, it is staying awake while killing those mods I find difficult.

Kill harder mobs, kill more mobs. You really have to make your own experience in classic. Playing in ways that make you use more of your class tools will be more engaging for you.

Hmmm the pve content is not challenging enough for you. Perhaps a pvp server would be more to your liking? It introduces an added layer of dynamic player driven difficulty that you may find more engaging.

Just a thought.

I’m not really all that interested in being ganked and taking longer to level. I want to reach the max level and do end game content.

You won’t be ganked… Don’t worry about that but you’ll think you’ll be ganked… That stuff stays in your head. I guarantee you won’t be falling asleep killing a mob with the threat of dangerous that’s lurking but not really there.

Surely you need the difficulty of retail where when leveling to 120 you don’t even have to look at the screen while killing entire packs of mobs! Just stop playing and go elsewhere.

I rarely alone just kill or farm mobs for xp. Mostly i doing dungeon or party quest to level. I still stay interested because i level together with ppl, build up guild, help each other. Maybe you need look a community on your server.

As op said if fall asleep doing add in adrenaline by going PvP server by 20 you have no idea what is behind that door.

You will hide your toon while afk. Don’t go afk by shores I seen a croc come out of the water to get a snack.

You’re looking at the end goal not what’s in front of you. It’s an adventure and you will make it.

I look at lvl 1 to 20 how to become an adventure. Then you go on these crazy chain quest. Skip the food stuff or buy it at AH.

The game can be boring if you kill one mob wait 20-30sec to get health/mana back then go kill another mob

I like to create small objectives for myself. Kill mob under 12sec and keep track of how many I kill before I have to rest. Now try to improve on that

Levelling this Shaman is soooo much fun (even tho all you basically do is auto attack) because I’m using Earthbind totem and kite the mobs. Basically attack and slow them then kite them around the totem only going in when you are about to swing

Also try leveling a profession

I play a priest, I’m able to pull up to three mobs at a time and with some shadow talents, able to increase my regen after killing enemies; it gives me spirit. I have the ability to keeping pull mobs as I also use a wand when my mana is low and just wait for mp5.

You think leveling and questing is brain dead easy and boring, but endgame content is amazing? You might be in for a rude awakening come level 60. Unless you are playing the main tank, raids might be the most boring thing you have ever done in your entire life. Healing people that make mistakes might keep you engaged though. That is just my take on it though, maybe they arent boring for some people.

It’s gonna get better. If you’re 21, go run the Redridge quests. They will lead you to the elite HaaaaHaHa mobs in the north east. Lower level stuff doesn’t give a big challenge, but the higher your level, the higher the danger becomes.

But if it’s the core aspects of questing that’s boring, those pretty much stay the same. Just don’t pickup the ones that take you across the world until you finish the zone quests. But those sometimes lead to dungeons or other nice rewards.

I’m a weird person. I can run the same dungeon for hours and never get bored of it, but having to do kill and collect quests is my limit. Everyone has their likes and dislikes.

And retail isn’t the same way? Stopped reading here. Get out.

Yea honestly you’re not high enough level for it to be challenging. This isn’t Demon’s Souls but it does ramp up later on. I mean it’s an MMORPG not sure what you’re expecting here.

Just pay a mage to power level you.

Are you sure that you want to play a priest? If you play a warrior, druid, or paladin then you can tank dungeons all the way to 60… tanks are in the greatest demand for dungeons.

It is brain dead easy, time consuming, and very boring. That’s always been Classic, that’s what makes it so popular- people with loads of time but no talent can feel like Gods.

Why? Nothing changes- you’re still doing grindy, repetitive, easy content. None of the end game content in Vanilla WoW is remotely challenging (well… other than being raid leader- but that’s not due to in game content). You go to point x to get buff a, point y to get buff b, and then point z to get buff c- if on a pve server, this is just monotony and easy.

If on a pvp server, you get dispelled or killed after point y and then do it over again from the start. Either way- repetitive, boring. Then you log out, wait a few days- go raid against some of the easiest mechanics you’ve ever seen, get to see even slight errors be severely punished by a mix of DKP losses and verbal abuse from the other 39 players pissed off in the raid because they just wasted hours preparing their buffs/consumes and now that 40 min BWL is going to take an ungodly 50 min because someone pulled threat on Vael.

Everyone is doing things ultra efficiently, to the point of ironically wasting far more time than they would if they weren’t being so efficient (yes, I understand that sounds insane- too bad every major raid guild, and all the minor raid guilds trying to be like them think it’s normal).

So really- why bother? If you find it repetitive now, it always will be. You’ll never get to see interesting content- it’s all being rushed/sold everywhere. Dungeons are boosted rather than run, pvp is nothing but premades looking for the fastest wins possible, events that aren’t about getting bis loot don’t exist- and even if you raid it’s going to be routine to the point of which I’m sure most IRL managers would look at this with jealousy at how so many people can be rounded up and given a repetitive task for so long.
