If I choose threads of fate as apposed to the storyline in shadowlands. Does that mean I’m missing out of achievements and content? Or could I still do every quest, I’m just not forced to.
You don’t miss out on anything. It gives you the storyline achievements for free.

Quests are still there, just not as many. You still get overall story completion in threads

The main story quests get auto-competed for you. All the side quests however remain available for you to do if you wish.

Personally I wouldn’t do it. Just do the story quests until like right on the end of dinging to 60, then run back to oribos and change to it before slamming into 60 and going from there.

Wish you could go back and do story quests later. There’s little enough story content as it is.

I have leveled 2 alts using threads and it was better in my opinion. Now with the recent changes, it is an even better option!
if you want to do the full, nothing skipped 9 yards of plaid in that kilt. You can and you can always change your mind from that direction. though once you choose the ‘threads’ path there’s no take backs on that. sort of like ,“you can always kill them later but you can’t bring them back”.
