He doesn’t have to experience the old way to know PF is garbage and the old way was better.

the questions and points by the panda arent even relevant.
I have leveled nigh on 100 characters or so (up thru 90)…ive deleted more than most will ever start or play…from level ONE.
So I KNOW all about the old system of gold and max level for flight and then the WOD pathfinder abomination that nearly caused me to quit playing WoW the first time I ran into it.
What these other ‘systems’ have to do with any of it…well, its a deflection, obviously.

Looks like you won’t be flying then. Pathfinder isn’t going anywhere and not really going to change anytime soon. So I guess if you play WoW mostly for flying then this might not be the mmo for you.
WOW. People seriously need to stop acting like Pathfinder is this huge and hard grind when in reality it is cake. You actually play the game and do the full story line etc. and you are already almost done with PF1 and PF2 took me maybe 1 1/2 weeks to complete when 8.2 first launched and didn’t spend much time at all to do the dailies.

Yup.
That seems like a reasonable prediction. PF is a heavy deterrent for many players returning or even playing less and less compared to the pre PF era.

Personally I think PF sucks. It’s the content we used to do in the past when flying was given to us at max level. Now they have to lock flying behind doing everything to the point of flying being irrelevant once you get it. Seems like backwards design.

Just to pick on Metro a bit…if it wasn’t that important, it wouldn’t put such a pit in people’s stomachs.
I’d say being able to use a flying mount in current content that I paid $30 on the Blizz Store to get is a pretty important reason to want to fly.
You can still farm rep for Netherwing and earn the right to purchase a Netherwing Drake. Still grind out a number of flying mounts from various raids and instances. Any of these mounts that take a significant amount of player time and dedication should be able to be used as designed - to fly with, not as a stand in for their ground mount.
Speaking of old content, is it really reasonable to expect a new or returning player to do every single mission and explore every nook and cranny of all areas from 2 expansions ago before they’re allowed to fly in WoD zones?
There are numerous reasons this invokes player’s ire.

Why? It’s a chore list that always was there and adds nothing new to the game.
Sorry. You can’t speak for everyone on this. The classic community is a good example of some people who think adding flying to the game made the wow world smaller and less dangerous. To say that everyone wants pathfinder to be gone is just wrong.

Okay… that is your opinion. I like it because it gives me something to do and work towards. Achieving it while everyone complains about how hard it is feels amazing

Not one single person says PF is difficult. There are numerous problems with it but difficulty isn’t one. For you to say it feels amazing to accomplish it says a lot about your gaming abilities.

This game has and endless supply of those already.
lord…just trying to grind out a single set of transmogs is turning out to be a WEEKS long chore.
Literally WEEKS so far just trying to get ONE stupid piece to drop.
And THAT isnt enough grinding in the game for some?
We have to make a stinking mode of travel a grind?
And then some are gullible enough to buy this ‘compromise’ joke blizzard came up with when THEY caused the entire ‘problem’ to begin with?
If I quit…WHEN I quit this game…it wont be over anything important.

- didnt need it to begin with.
- it was clearly the result of getting revenge on players who dared to complain about flight being TAKEN out of the game
- its just one more of ten thousand grinds that are numerous enough in this game.
- Its booooring and tedious just to get a stinking mode of travel.
