It’s great don’t get me wrong, but wouldn’t crit be ideal? Mastery too but if you going for glacial spike that got nerfed yes?
I thought it was Mastery as your first stat, across the board, alongside generous crit (29%-33%, closest you can get to 33), then not to forget haste.

Not much of a PvP’er but I watch a lot of playthroughs thinking I’m going to get good someday.
I think the take on it is that casting is in a rough state right now given the CC and interrupts. That leads me to assume that you want to avoid spending time casting.
Mage evolves around sheep and haste makes them easier to get off. Try casting a 1.6 second sheep compared to 1.4 big difference. Also DB sheep one of our core combos require a certain amount of haste to get off. Especially with cc reduction gear. A relentless healer can’t be db without 27-28% haste also helps us get more gloBals off.
you’re going to hit 180k glacial spikes without any mastery anyways, you dont go haste for damage, you go haste for faster polys etc.
you can try it, but personally anytime you can’t get 20% haste at least, mage feels awful imo.
