Not sure how other healers feel about shuffle but

But shuffle is the MOST awful thing to heal right now. I’m at the lower end of the bracket on my priest. And it is NOT fun to heal these dps. They run around corner, hide, and then never once kick cc’s on you.

Then you get flamed as the reason for losing. Like it’s my fault you ran opposite way while the other dps was also dying. I’m not Mr Fantastic with stretch arms here…

That’s how a lot of other healers feel. I assure you.

It’s why DPS have atrocious queue times and why Blitz has Duo queues.

Could it be possible you are also making some critical gameplay errors?

There are also way too many dps in the lower ratings that just don’t have a good grasp of proper positioning.

I’m trying to get Resto to the 1800 at least, but it’s a daunting task in SS, not only because dampening SUCKS for the way that Resto works (among other known issues), but what hurts me the most is when a melee dps simply beelines to the enemy pillar/obstacle, not only far from my range but LOS as well. Which forces me to run towards a really unfavorable position.

Its just part of the game its something you gotta learn to deal with. Idk what healer you play but with double melee you likely want to push in to assist them.

I’d recommend finding people you enjoy playing with and playing with them separately!

It’s crazy how entitled healers are and never seem to consider they are also part of the problem.

Im not sure you understand how solo shuffle works man. Whatever dps u have your opposing healer has too. If your loosing more than winning in shuffle thats kinda a user issue. I have hhe same issue but im not very good past 1600

It sucks but you’re not experiencing anything different from every other healer. I always look at it this way. If other players of my class/spec are able to get 100’s of rating higher than me…then there’s something I can do better. I believe a big part of being good in RSS is being able to quickly adapt to poor positioning/ poor play by your partners.

Now all the above doesn’t mean I don’t see red and rage sometimes in the moment, but ultimately, I always come to the realization that it’s likely a “me” problem as much as it’s a “them problem”. Otherwise, I’d be 2600+ and I’m clearly not lol.

probably, but multiple things can be true at once. The only big benefit of queuing as healer is instant queue pops, but its 10x more chill to play as dps. You can make big mistakes as DPS and not immediately lose the game, not really true as healer, so even if both are contributing equally to the loss, it feels a lot worse/more punishing from the healer’s POV

Imma be real with you. Shuffle does suck big time. But…

As a very new healer to any pvp and just feeling like I bang my head against the keyboard mostly my best advice is to keep grinding. Grow some thicker skin. Practice. Record your games and watch them back and try and spot bad plays of yours. Don’t try and be a hero and make big plays. You can’t make other players better but you can make yourself better if you really want to get better.

Yesterday got asked why I didn’t bop someone. I was in a long cc chain and he was out of range, 2 factors that I couldn’t overcome. However, when I watched the round he also died with blur and darkness available so I guess he was holding them for the next round. Lesson: it’s not always your fault. It is easier for someone to blame another than to take responsibility though.

I know pvp has made me better at healing, I might still not be good(newsflash: I’m not) at it but I’m better than I was 2 months ago. Still to be determined if it has made me better at pve but I’ll figure that out when the new M+ season comes out.

Best advice I’ve got and it is the most basic advice ever…JUST HEAL.

I just started telling groups, " I follow the tank. If you’re out of LOS, I don’t care and am not chasing you down. You die and I don’t care. You’ve been informed."

I really don’t mind healing shuffle at low ranks. These things are just part of it, and tbh the flaming isn’t that common. Best revenge is just to end the match with more wins than whoever is flaming you.

Honestly this ^. I’ve been on both ends of this, and boy it feels good when the guy flaming you for one of his losses with you ends up going 0-6 or 1-5.

On the other side of things, I’ve definitely caught myself blaming (in my head) someone as being the reason for our loss, only for them to beat me each time they were against me. It’s me, hi, i’m the problem it’s me!

I hear you loud and clear, lower brackets do feel like there are significant limits to what you can control/influence. However as Bubblebuddyy pointed out and as I learned through over 1k SS rounds this season, there’s many errors that I made that could have influenced the outcome.

Keep your chin up and keep learning. There’s a significant breakpoint after 1850.

There’s a reason out of the top 200 people in arena, only like 10-20 are healers.

It’s unbalanced and dps are often unhinged when losing after waiting extraordinary times for a queue. I think of it like rocket league, there’s always another insta queue for me. I enjoy the competition a lot. But there’s no way I’d enjoy grinding to 2200+.

Sorry, my bad.
Saving bubble/block/turtle/major defensive for next game where I still wont use it.
Since the other guy is harder to carry, that dps will go 0-6 and 5 others will go 4-2 for increased rating while the healers go 3-3 and get nothing.

And the circle of life continues.

Think it has more to do with numbers, you could say the same about regular 3s. It’s simply down to the fact that there are 2 healers out of 6 players where as dps are 4 of 6.

I personally love the idea of solo q but think the current iteration with Shuffle sucks. I’d much rather have a 1 and done style.

I know that I need to improve as a player, but its hard to find out how to improve when you are in a lobby where your teammates put you into lose-lose situations, and don’t press defensives when they’re on your team and simply do not make those same mistakes when on the other team.
