Generally don’t have much time for retail and was neutral about SL. I
Now that we have it out of the way, I realize that the progression, sense of learning skills, braving the world and getting your character levelled up is part of what made WoW the great game it was back in 2004.
It looks like they have now tried to remove leveling and add complexity to the game in order to “give casuals more to do” but let’s be honest: it’s just to make money. More money. I’m not sure what they are trying to do here but it’s not good at all.
People may have varied responses to this but I seriously think that while I don’t like Retail, I feel whatever you guys got shouldn’t be ruined by this kind of stuff. If they slowly normalize the game into a repetitive, boring list of daily chores it will die.
FeelsBadMan they shouldn’t be dumbing-down yet another expansion.

None of the “daily chores” are required though. I vastly prefer having the option to do them vs. just raid logging every week.

Well, that’s something at least. Unfortunately many other folks seem to have been disappointed by the continuing move to turn Retail into an endgame only game.
It’s a pity. SL had such promise.
They’ve already done this since - what? WoD? a little in MoP?
Nothing new. Nice sentiments(and this isn’t coming from rancour, but a lively sense of humor today,) but take your pity and scoot, we’re busy whining amoungst ourselves!
Legion, IMO. Maybe WoD. I don’t remember systems in Pandaland but you could be right.

Worth noting that this is basically a troll attempt copying my thread from Classic which was a genuine attempt to help Classic players.
You people can check that thread out and confirm why he suddenly created this.
EDIT: Damn I’m pleasantly surprised that this thread is bringing out helpful information and suggestion from Retail players. I think this will be a blessing in disguise
If you want to talk about daily chores, look no further than last patch TBC. Isle of Quel was the first daily quest hub. There was nothing on that island but dailies, the dungeon and the raid.

They have definitely trivialized leveling. But to many I have spoken with, there is not much of anything for casuals to do that feels worthwhile and the complexity is simply a bunch of currencies. None of which are interesting.
There was Netherwing, Sha’tari Skyguard and Ogri’la before the Isle.

Ah, right. So even before 2.4. Guess the classic crowd will get a taste of daily chores sooner than I thought.

It’s true. Dalfurane is innocent. He’s a good hearted lad (ladette? Theyette?) who’s just trying to help.
He is absolutely not a troll.
Did that thread in classic gd nettle you that badly that you had to make a copycat thread?

Maybe you might actually end up helping Retail more than you intended. I have to thank you for this post
Agreed. Nothing meaningful to accomplish (unless you raid, of course.) And what you can accomplish is so easy that it’s almost not worth the effort.
It kills me that the game is so beautiful but I know a lot of people are having difficulty finding the desire to play it.
I think leveling does have a problem in newer expansions now that you mention it. back in the day when we went to Northrend, we got to choose where we wanted to level in first. Howling Fjord or Borean Tundra. now its more steamlined with us having to do Bastion, than Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, and finally Revendreth. but to be fair, players have made it an incentive to prioritize endgame content as well and just rushing through the leveling. even when they finally got classic people just rushed through it all and than got bored cause there was nothing to do at endgame besides molten core
I AM trying to help retail. I was so excited for SL… I thought they had learned their lessons from BFA. I lasted three weeks.
Oh yeah? Tell us OP how you feel about homogenization in wow, giving horde paladins and the alliance shamans?
Many of my guild members are thinking of going to STWOR now. 9.1 is not looking better to them and they wish for something that is not turning everything into speed runs.
