I’ll put it this way. The truth to why Blizzard actually decided to not add RDF to Wrath Classic.
Level 70 Boost from purchasing the Wrath BS from the WoW Shop. Level 58 Boost from purchasing the TBC BS from the WoW Shop.
BOOST. It never existed back in the days of The Burning Crusade, it surely never existed back in the days of Wrath of the Lich King. Why did Blizzard not add the RDF to Wrath Classic? Because then they wouldn’t be able to sell the boost, because people would actually be levelling.
its funny and cute to see all of you parrot the same crap everytime the subject is brought up, i played wotlk on a really small server where it was nearly impossible to simply complete a daily h dungeon for badges, rdf gave me a chance to complete dungeons
the only terrible thing i see is your terrible opinions
I love doing dungeons. I like the whole game but dungeons is my favorite part of the game. I’ve done thousands of pugs. I started soon after the game was released and played through wrath and beyond. And no I didn’t observe social interactions in 99% of those pugs. It wasn’t a reflection of me. I always watched party chat for any information about cc etc. If anyone had asked me where I worked or lived I’d have answered. I never told the group to stop talking and focus on the dungeon. I never suggested that anyone should shut up so we could move along faster. Even if I was quiet that wouldn’t stop the other 4 people in the group from chattering away about their job, their wife and kids, troubles at work or at home, or even chatting about the weather. I’d have noticed that happening but It simply doesn’t happen in 99% of the pugs I’ve been in.
You know, my mother taught me to be polite. I say “greetings” even in the rdf groups and I’ll say “great group” or “thanks for the group” at the end. But I know the difference between polite phrases and actual socializing. Polite phrases and information about doing the dungeon isn’t socialization and that’s all that happens in 99% of the pugs. So I didn’t lose anything when rdf was added instead of doing a pug. And frankly if you claim that your pugs were full of chatter about life, the universe, and everything I’ll think you’re lying.
we belong in wotlkc, the devs are making the game specifically for us tho. Thats the reality of the situation. its not hypothetical, its not could would or should. it is.
The greetings are the last thing to go. And trust me, in Retail theyve gone. Because people want the game to be a single player experience and RDF enforces that. I’m not saying that you’re lying about your experiences in pugs. But the RDF life coupled with the way players approach games nowadays compared to a decade ago creates a dystopian environment where people will not communicate. It goes so far that people who talk in retail RDF get kicked for being chatty. Or told shut up. Good on you for not being like that, but that’s what this community devolves into when you make gameplay too efficient and make it more convenient to get a group of quiet min maxers than normal players.
I highly suggest you check out some of Kevin Jordan’s (OG WoW Dev) stuff on what went into the design and philosophy of the earlier expansions and vanilla. You’d be surprised how carefully everything was crafted and designed to create social interactions that would turn into lifelong friendships, friends getting married, etc. etc. These designs are no longer prevalent in WoW, and RFD is one of many convenience features that has led to that.
In game reporting is another great example of a tool that the community has weaponized to create an environment where communication is stifled and anything that isn’t min/max strats gets punished.
Sorry but im a classic player, that included classic, tbcc, and will include wotlkc. If you want convenience over community you want retail over classic.
you are not, your a classic era player who is hell bent on ruining a good game because they are either an idiot or an egotist. You people all of you Anti RDF types are ruining a great game for no reason other than you can. I hate each and every one of you, you are vile evil people, who are so self-centered and ignorant it hurts.
You don’t understand the basics of community in this game, your incapable of it, I doubt highly your a functional adult in the real world, which is why you try to insist we must communiate with your ilk in game. Never, the ANTI RDF crowd should be shunned on every server, blocked from every raid and dungeon run, and forced to sit in silence.
I promise to play Wrath only to ruin the gameplay as much as I can of anyone I run into that expresses distate for RDF, I intend to greif them any chance I get be it tagging their mobs, or running mobs onto them, going out of my way to make their existance unpleasant
No during or at the end of the dungeon we would exchange contact details. Later on they may decide to transfer and join our guild. I still talk to people on battle.net that I met in RDF 15 years ago.
Says the person who is throwing a temper tantrump for not gettint the game designed exactly how you want it…
Contrary to what you seem to believe some people LIKE not having a game system holding their hand and forcing you to group with others with 0 interaction or communication. Some people like game design that encourages people to talk to each other. And thats the people blizzard is aiming at for their target audience for wotlkc. If thats jot you, you have other options. Those who like the design choice that blizzard is making for wotlkc dont have nearly as many options as you do. Basically every mmorpg (if they can even be called rpg at this point) focus on convenience over community, if thats the game design you want, go play those games. You can go play FFO, ESO, retail wow, exc the list goes on, heck there is plenty of single player games that fit your prefered game style as well. Not every game is made for everyone. And clearly wotlkc isnt being made for you if you are this agressive and hostile about not having rdf.
