Title pretty much says it all, and I’m not really looking for solutions or arguments, mostly just getting this off my chest and maybe some of you are in the same boat and can emphathize. I’ve stopped progressing this expansion and I’m frustrated. I run Heroic Uldir every week, my guild gets stuck on Zul and wipes for hours, we finally got him down last week. Every week I don’t get loot and just get expulsom, when I do get loot, its loot I don’t need. When I join pugs, we wipe for hours and everyone gives up. Can’t get AOTC for that reason even though I’ve mastered solo orb running.
I can’t get in M+ groups because my IO isn’t high enough, and the groups I do get into are for keys that drop gear I don’t need. The keys I do run are basically just to get my IO up at this point, and sadly most of them are a complete dumpster fire (people leave after 1 wipe, etc). I’m lucky if I can finish a 7 during the week, and get my weekly Chest of Disappointment (more gear I don’t need that goes into the scrapper). I should also add I’ve never gotten a single piece of gear from a world boss, only gold, and I kill them every week.
I know a lot of this is going to get fixed in 8.1, which is great, but its a ways away, and I want to get AOTC and progress before then but I’m losing hope. Thanks for reading.
I feel you on the not going forward. We are stuck on Ghuun and can’t get orb runners. Then we try Zul and for whatever reason we always try Zerg. So it gets annoying wiping for over an hour because of one thing or another.
As for mythic+ I only run them when a certain healer is there but even then I am forced to run with my wife who plays a warlock. no one wants to run wit ha lock
Raider dot io, its a website/addon people use to determine whether or not you have enough experience/content under your belt to be of value to their group. It’s a blessing for the people with a high score, and a curse for the people with a low score.
I like .io, most of my successful M+ runs have been through pugs because I took advantage of its rating system.
If I’m running a +12 FH, I want to make sure the people I invite have actual experience in M+ and in this dungeon.
I also worked my way up through the rating by just running pugs most of the time. You can do the same and work your way up. Right now, I’m at like 1200 and get into +10s or higher very easily because they know I know how the dungeon works and what trash to pull and what mobs do what.
I’ve tried to get my score up but like I said the only groups I get accepted into are in the 2-5 range, 6’s and 7’s I get declined for whatever reason, and most people don’t want WW monks in their group, especially one with only 365 item level…hence why I’m not progressing.
According to your io you’re only at 379 rating which is about the 5-6 range like what you’re getting. You haven’t done a single KRs yet. Do that and your rating will go into the 400s. You’ve also done a bunch of +2s on half the dungeons, get all of those to +6s and you’ll be at 600 rating which is enough to get into 7s and 8s. Rinse and repeat with 8s and soon you’ll be high enough for 10s.
You can of course skip all of that by joining a guild that runs M+ and/or running some higher keys with friends.
Thank you that’s good advice. I’ve been looking out for KR keys but the ones I see in the queue are always 9+ and not on the low end. Not making excuses, it’s just the reality of what’s available when I look.
Honestly the getting stuck on zul part sounds like a guild problem. That boss is pretty easy on heroic. Relatively speaking it’s just a burn down boss.
Gear and even raid progression can feel, sometimes, like it’s out of your hands. Gear especially, because the issue of stuff dropping at ilvls that won’t be upgrades isn’t any better in 10s than in 7s, since you’re still fishing for titanforges. It helps to focus on the things that you can control, like your parses or, to some extent, even IO (though I know pugging can be as much of a gamble as titanforging, if you can get a guild group rolling it’s a totally different animal).
Even if we’re having roster struggles and can’t run at all, or we just play poorly and our progression becomes regression, I can at least stand in fewer Vectis lines or hit his adds that little bit harder and feel like I, at least, am making progress. Of course, some nights the opposite happens and I’m just getting carried by a raid that’s better than I am, in which case I’m suddenly much more focused on the collective achievement instead of individual performance .
Aaanyway, on the topic of stuff that’s in your control, bruh you gotta respec your hat over to Open Palm Strikes; you’ve already got Archive on your chest. I know it’s creepy to armory stalk and all but that just ain’t right. Hurts me to even look at it.
Actually people want wws. I ran with one who had 11k io and he was pulling huge dps. Not to mention 5% physical. I hate it too, but io really is important. I ran a 10 way crest this week and I checked everyone’s io but the tanks was a bit low but we were waiting so long so I said f it and invited him. Terrible terrible mistake, the guy would use blessing of prot and divine shield (dropping all aggro from the adds) break cc on ghuun, wouldn’t cc any spawns, pull to many, pull slowly, I could go on. It’s just to dangerous to invite random players that don’t have a good score because in reality the keys are not like legion it’s much more difficult and harder for new players.
Edit:My mains io, skoomad is at about 850 and I almost never get declined.
