Posting box no longer has the preview and is now like 33% the width of my screen. I’m on 1080 too… any if you 4k folks are probably leaving noseprints on your monitor right now. Unless you’re a zoomer posting on their phone!
(Yea, I realize I’m a “boomer” ‘cause I still post on PC… and because I had to ask chatgpt for the word “zoomer”… )
Why do tech nerds change stuff just for the sake of changing it? I understand security updates. I don’t ever recall people asking for a new awful to use forum format
To justify their jobs that they turn up most of the time to simply collect the pay check. Its not an industry that will continue to pay the bills like it once did soon-ish either because they have harmed their own reputation by producing poor quality peoducts and eventually via comuputer learning systems that people call Ai but really it is not Ai.
I temper this with not all tech is this way, but a lot of it is really bad.
Modern MS is not the company it once was.. Work ethic and innovation are gone.. it died with the development of win 8.
They have slowly reshaped into a QE bot seaching for ways to scrape %'s out of anything they can.
The loss of innovation at MS is a little different than most corporate; I could write a long winded detail on it, but ill spare you and sum it up with this little phrase “Living in the tech bubble” This is why MS sucks now.
PS I have never liked Edge, Ill even say it in chat… IE was better.
Right now Google is trying to reform the internet, this is why they are killing add blockers on all chromium products.
Is modern anybody? It’s an almost inevitable result of success in the software business.
I’m going to deliberately not get started on MS… so I’ll just say that I took my “forced” Win11 “upgrade” this weekend and I very much have feelings about it.
Not being super tech savvy I opted to get the extra year of security updates for windows 10, while I continue to procrastinate swapping to Linux. I also saw a video for a longer term solution with windows 10 ltsc, but I’m unsure how to get it.
Yes, but its not the kind of companies you may think of. Only uber big industrial equipment manufacturing / system design is anymore. I consider companies like JohnDeere and Caterpillar to be “consumer” tools / equipment. I am talking big stuff like mining equipment, stuff to build battle ships, oil rigs, etc.. Big stuff that is not allowed to go wrong. Very expensive but very well made.
