I don’t know about you guys, but one of the things I don’t like about WoW is being underground in caves.
I mean I can barely handle Zerelek Cavern, that place just feels flat out depressing. I find it more depressing than Maldraxxus, and I didn’t think a zone could top that one. I mean I’m maxed in Renown with all the factions in DF except Loamm Niffen cause I hate that zone that much!
I mean, what kind of enemies will we be facing that are underground? More worms?! Rodents?! I mean we gonna have weapons that are Garlic roots! Maybe I should tmog my weapons to that since I hit like a wet noodle now.
I mean, what about the people that feel Closter phobic in zones like that?!
I’m not even looking forward to Dragonriding underground either! I imagine that you are going to have to do a lot of skimming and turning in caves, which I hate!
The only thing that seems interesting is Anduin’s progression as a leader, it gives off some of the Arthas vibes.
I don’t know, but it seems to me that the direction of this game is going to stink up the joint.

I’d suggest finding the videos and casts they’ve done that talks about the zones, explains the vastness of them, how they mimicked natural light in places, the storylines, etc. Because all of what you just described is nothing like what we’re getting.

Have you even looked at any of the promotional material released? None of the zones look any more bleak than like…Revendreth. And that one is the nerubian zone, so of course it’s supposed to be spooky.

I hated Deepholm, and I despise Zaralack even moreso because of this reason.
Its wierd. I never thought being claustrophobic could translate into a video game.

Yes but…
It does feel… off, so I completely understand what you’re saying.
I too am looking forward to Anduin’s (hopefully) healing journey, especially with Thrall filling in as surrogate father.
I’m not looking forward to TWW simply because I love Dragonflight and am still having a blast trying to complete all the quests. I felt the same at this stage in Legion. BfA had impossible shoes to fill with me.
I didn’t know they had the zones on display yet. Thanks.
The only zone that looks interesting is the Isle of Dorn, it looks very LOTR The Shire-like…but that’s an above ground zone.
So we get more Nerubian Spiders to kill and more Brann Bronzebeard. Forgive me for saying this, but we already have done that before, and the new villain does not look that menacing.
I’m still not impressed.
Personally I’m very much looking forward to the underground zones and The War Within overall. Though, I understand your concern.

So you have no idea why this trilogy was created, barely read anything and understand nothing of the Void or the lore behind our villains, but preemptively without research, made up your mind and now you’re trying to project that onto others.
I truly don’t understand society these days. No one wants to learn. They just want to be negative.

I’m excited about the trilogy as far as story, lore, etc go. Sounds amazing. (Loved the Xal’atath dagger quest line in BfA!)
I’m just personally not ready to leave the gorgeous artwork and feel of the Dragon Isles. It’s been wondrously healing after depressing Shadowlands.
I know this sounds silly, and I very much mean it in a comedic way, but I feel as though I have slight Maw-induced PTSD. (I actually have PTSD, which really sucks so I’m not making light of it, but therapy works, and comedy and laughter are very healing), so I get what the OP is saying. And yes, the artwork for TWW is gorgeous!
Thanks to COVID, the WGA &SAG-AFTRA strikes plus the very real possibility of the upcoming IATSE &Teamsters strikes this summer (which has for the most part shut down most production), I’ve not gone on holiday since 2019, but Dragonflight has felt like a soothing vacation.
