Hope this is the right place but I have noticed that taking the quest “Not Here, Not Now, Not Ever” (19, 22) from Kalendros Irongrove in Suramar to continue the “Suramar Sojourner” achievement and complete the campaign prompts an immediate FPS degradation, followed by a freeze that forced me to close the game wholly from the Task Manager.
Further login attempt will result in immediate freeze, being unable to do much but request the forced move of my character through the “Stuck Character” service.
This has been the only instance of something like this and has happened consistently on my main Legion Remix toon situated on the Moon Guard server, so much so that I requested my character be unstuck twice in hopes to finish this quest and be able to move forward since it’s the only thing keeping me from getting the Campaign completion achievement.
I have tried disabling all addons and re-logging to no avail, even a complete wipe of them from my PC repeats the issue and I know my computer is more than over the recommended specs for the game. This type of stutter to complete freeze only happens in the zone where the quest “Not Here, Not Now, Not Ever” happens, nowhere else in Suramar. All of my other toons (Timerunners or regular TWW toons) do not have any issue.
Happened to me too. I switched to DirectX 11 and graphics set to 1. You gotta burn the shaladrassil root. For some reason that’s what’s causing the crashing
This is a huge problem in remix at the moment, so you aren’t alone. While I managed to catch it early thanks to a warning in the general chat by other players, the entire area was laggy and my partner was not as lucky and continuously crashed with an error saying “World of Warcraft was unable to start up 3D acceleration”. He only managed to get out of it by lowering his graphics to the absolute lowest it can go and working quickly to get his camera off of the glowing red root in front of the quest giver. The totems nearby are fine, it’s legitimately JUST the root causing all of this.
Once you burn the root, the FPS of the entire area and even in other places in Suramar seems to go right up.
For anyone that wants to attempt it while it’s broken, backing up until you’re close enough to use the torch to burn the root works. Just make sure your camera isn’t on it or the red AOE around it (you may have to zoom your camera in). Lower your graphics if it’s still not behaving well. If your computer isn’t very strong, don’t even go near the area until it’s fixed or you’ll have to un-stuck your character like OP.
Blizzard REALLY needs to fix this. It should be a priority if it’s happening to almost everyone.

Tried the lowest graphics settings: to make it work you need to tank all of your settings to either disabled or low, DirectX 11 option and let the game cap the frames on its own. You will get frames per sometimes, but you will be able to approach Kalendros Irongrove to turn in “Not Here, Not Now, Not Ever” and then powerpoint slide to complete “The Only Choice We Can Make”. That will restore all of your FPS.
I want to note that my rig is high-end and can run most last-gen games at the max graphics.
On a second note, the quest “Not Here, Not Now, Not Ever” does not include burning the root, it simply asks you to destroy the totems and get the horns from the satyrs - which you can do by carefully out-skirting the area around the NPC quest giver… problem is, you cannot turn in and get the one to burn the Shaladrassil root (“The Only Choice We Can Make”).
