I have to admit, I don’t particularly know how to articulate this, or even what it is I’m feeling. I haven’t actually gotten to 120 yet this xpac despite being excited for it (and buying it day 1) and playing Legion a ton.
I think its boiled down to me not loving the current classes. Monk has been my main for a while now, but I’m a little sick of him (class fantasy is okay, he just punches things) and since our WW artifact ability got removed it feels like there’s a big hole in our rotation. So I’ve been trying Mage and its … okay. Demon Hunter leveling is really just spamming 1,1,1,1,1,1,2,2,2,1,1,1,1,1. It just seems like every class I’ve tried during BfA has felt … static? That might be a good word for it. None of them really feel dynamic or exciting to me. Does anyone else feel this way?

I would argue leveling a character doesn’t really give you a good feel for how it will play. When levelling while learning a class for the first time you can be successful by basically pressing any damage abilities in any order. Get to 120 and do some dungeons where your performance actually matters and you get a better feel of it all.
I found myself using a whole lot more buttons than two on my DH. But I chose some fun stuff to level with.
I love my Balance Druid. But that’s about where I’ve stopped. There are others that feel boring to me. So I get it.
I hope you find something you enjoy!
As an elemental shaman, I have 4-6 abilities I use regularly in my rotation. More if AEing comes into play. This does not count abilities with a cool down of over 1 minute.
I have nearly 30 keybinds, and I use many of them regularly when running m+. Not as much for raids, as our toolkit is more dungeon based.
This is not including leveling, which does not give anywhere near an accurate feel of how a class plays until the very end.
Combined with many abilities being pruned over the years from various classes and the removal of the artifact abilities, it has left some classes feeling way too oversimplified. As a result, it can feel repetitive in nature and boring as well. Let’s also not forget that through alpha until now, there has been basically no contact from Blizzard about many class issues.

Sure it does. There are no new abilities at 120. Nothing changes at all. I don’t even know why they raised the level cap in BfA.
The classes are as dumber down as possible because Acti-Blizz thinks that’s what appeals to the masses. Except “the masses” don’t play WoW. We’re mostly adults with years of PC gaming experience who want a certain level of difficulty and customization. Oh well.

Aye.
As destru warlock i loved gameplay during Legion. Now It works like : 30 seconds of burst, easyly ruined by any kind of interrupts, or simple mechanics that demand movement, and then 2:30 of throwing weak spells while waiting for the next burst…It’s absolutely horrible.
