Not gonna lie blizz, locking facial features with skin colour is a bit racist

I mean, y-you know that mixed people exist right? or like just people with lighter/darker shades.

I mean, I am no SJW but it is a bit weird to decide what ethnicity should get what in such a locked strict way.

Also when are the actual east asians faces coming?

Also lmao, so humans don’t get black hair anymore unless they use “black people hairstyles”?

Racist? No. Oversight? Yes.

But your sentiment is correct, I can’t fathom why they didn’t just give us a color wheel/palette.

I mean it would be an oversight if this was something they didn’t do when they had to. Instead this is something they did do when they didn’t have to at all which is pretty weird.

Humans have so much locked customization with each other, they need to knock that off already.

OMG… you’re right. I can’t pick certain faces if I’m trying to make a black human… I have to pick between Faces 16-30. 1-15 if I’m White.

Blizzard just literally implemented Separate But Equal into an MMO.

Yea thought that was stupid

“How to please the diversity crowd and the segregationists at the same time”.

It’s so pointless. I can play an orc or a talking dog but I can’t play an asian person with dark skin colour.

really? I can still click on the darkened options. click on it, it stil;l lets you choose the options

If you’re so outraged then quit. Tired of EVERYTHING being racist.

Wait. Wasn’t their some article how they were leaving that behind? Or maybe I’m on drugs… hey. You ever look at your hand? I mean really look at it?

Legit, I’m not even close to an SJW, but I’m genuinely shocked and a little uncomfortable by this. Blizzard has said through this option: “Your human characters skin tone limits you to these particular options for faces.”

Apparently, black people aren’t allowed to have small noses.

I know I’m reading a lot into this, but maybe hitting my hobby of 16 years was the way to really get it through my skull. Is this really the direction “woke culture” is going? Or was this just a really stupid bug or filter option someone was tinkering with that accidently went live?

I don’t wanna rush to conclusions, but holy hell.

I’m a WoW player, I don’t have hands.

Yes, but the face changes to one approved by the system once you do that.

Honestly Blizz just… I don’t even know. They messed up something with human customizations. Having, what, 36 faces but repeating the same 12 three times to allocate skin colors makes no sense.

They could easily have just made 12 faces and allowed any skin color for all of them. It’s like they made more work for themselves for no reason just to lock X to Y when there’s an (almost) identical X(2) to correlate to Y(2).

The fact that certain things like scars only show up on face 17 but not almost identical face 5, and have a different scar on almost identical face 29 is insane… Even more so when you look at night elves and orcs who have similar options on a separate texture layer that skips the problem.

like i said during blitzchung
‘you think you want basic human rights, but you dont’

different, obviously, but still very much tied together.
basic, decent, equal, representation.

So so ok ok, the question is, is it because you wanted black/Asian features with white skin or vice versa? Just curious.

Fascinating.

Players get mad at blizzard for essentially removing skin color back when models were updated. Racist.

Blizz goes on a spree to add more options than ever before and its still racist.

all options with all options
inifinite diversity (in) infinite combinations

You say that but I’m sure the OP noticed it while he/she was trying to go for a certain look.

Sure, let’s pretend that’s all that happened.

They could’ve used that extra time to make more faces for all other races.

It’s fantasy, not reality.
