I mean it would be an oversight if this was something they didn’t do when they had to. Instead this is something they did do when they didn’t have to at all which is pretty weird.
Legit, I’m not even close to an SJW, but I’m genuinely shocked and a little uncomfortable by this. Blizzard has said through this option: “Your human characters skin tone limits you to these particular options for faces.”
Apparently, black people aren’t allowed to have small noses.
I know I’m reading a lot into this, but maybe hitting my hobby of 16 years was the way to really get it through my skull. Is this really the direction “woke culture” is going? Or was this just a really stupid bug or filter option someone was tinkering with that accidently went live?
Honestly Blizz just… I don’t even know. They messed up something with human customizations. Having, what, 36 faces but repeating the same 12 three times to allocate skin colors makes no sense.
They could easily have just made 12 faces and allowed any skin color for all of them. It’s like they made more work for themselves for no reason just to lock X to Y when there’s an (almost) identical X(2) to correlate to Y(2).
The fact that certain things like scars only show up on face 17 but not almost identical face 5, and have a different scar on almost identical face 29 is insane… Even more so when you look at night elves and orcs who have similar options on a separate texture layer that skips the problem.
