quest = Alpaca it in. This quest is not showing. I have done “Alpaca it up” 11 times now. You are supposed to feed the friendly alpaca 7 times then get the quest to get the mount. Here’s a list of when I fed the alpaca. 5-8 @ 10:00am, 5-9 @3:20pm, 5-10 @11:19am, 5-12 @1:12pm, 5-13 @6:25pm, 5-14 @5:39pm, 5-15 @12:45pm, 5-16 @10:17am. All times in server time. I saw the alpaca on 5-15 @3:00pm with no mount quest, and again on 5-16 @3:38 with no mount quest. 5-17 @10:42am. On 5-18 @ 12:43pm, and on 5-19 @ 11:02am. So as of 5-19 I have done this quest that requires feeding the alpaca 7 times a total of 11 times. 8 of those times have been consecutively with no missed days. I just want the next quest so I can get the mount.
I found him again on 5-19 @ 11:30 No quests available. He should be giving the one time quest for the mount. On wowhead I found a post with a script to see the number of times you have fed him. However comments after that post say dragonflight broke the script.
/script print(GetQuestObjectiveInfo(58881, 0, false))
Maybe if someone figures out why the script no longer works then blizzard can figure out why this quest isn’t working because apparently the alpaca forgot how to count.
Yes I (and my husband) have tickets in on this issue. We have both received automated responses saying to check wowhead, etc. /sigh.
Hoping this post can get a gm’s attention so a solution can be found. Or someone who knows how to do the script stuff can see why it’s not working anymore.
First GM response, the day after my original ticket, gave me all the “helpful solutions” like check wowhead to see what to do, post on the forums etc etc etc.
This is not an issue of I can’t find the quest. This is an issue of The quest isn’t tracking how many times it’s been done in order to trigger the next quest. There are multiple posts on wowhead about this issue but they are all from like 2 yrs ago so I was hoping it was fixed.
Got my second GM response today to be told there are no known issues and if I fed him while in a raid group pre-january I have to do it again. Now mind you I listed all of my feed dates and times in my ticket. And that it was during the last two weeks. So unless the ticket backlog is 6 months, no it wasn’t pre-january.
sorry. I’m just frustrated that I can’t get a simple fix to something that’s been an issue for years. We just came back after a little over a year off, a little sad to see that ticket responses still show the gm’s don’t actually read the tickets. I’ve had issues (way back when) with bugged quests where the gm’s would check your account, see you should be able to pickup a quest, and actually trigger the borked quest to work. Of course that was back when gm’s actually talked to you in game, and sometimes even appeared.
