I have a problem trying to get the Key of Shadows. I looked at the support article but it was not helpful. I did everything right: paid the 25k gold for the Dogg-Saron costum, did the quest chain to get the toy Twitching Eyeball, went to the Valley of the Eternal Blossom found the obelisk on top of the Mogu’shan Palace, activated the toy so I had the Gift of N’Zoth buff, got out my perky pug, equipped the costume, targeted the obelisk and typed /pray. Nothing happened. I should have the Key of Shadows but don’t. Fix this please.
It can take a couple minutes for the key to loot to your bag. Also, the Dogg-Saron costum isnt required.
Disclaimer for you “well actually” types. According to recent posts, as long as players obtain the Detective title prior to the end of the 20th anniversary celebration, players can still complete this.
I’m at this point now and I did the perky pug costume, acquired the toy from the Xal questline, and I’m at the Battle for Azeroth Vale timeline. I popped the toy twice, that’s 2 hours, and still no key. I tried setting my pugs name back to default, which is an ethics violation Blizzard! I mean come on, rename a dog? What kind of bad timeline is this? I tried using the torch toy, using the detective eagle toy, and tried alternating the two, with zero results.
I saw the blizz forum post that the pug costume isn’t required, but I did both, and I got nothing. I saw 3 alliance players pull up and nothing happened to them either, but I’m horde, so idk what happened for them. Does anyone know what is missing?
As Bermy said … this can take up to a couple of minutes. I did it a while back and I was stood there for ages … it’s like the thing only checks once every few minutes that anyone is there 
Perhaps there’s a length of time you have to /pray before it will give you it? Dunno. Try doing everything required to activate it, and then doing nothing for a while.
