And… since my account has been set up for automatic monthly payment for over a decade, why didn’t I get the 6 month sub mounts as well?
Loyalty means nothing in todays world. Ever try to get that super cheap iPhone for a new subscription with an existing subscription? Nothing for you, unless you pay the full price.
So may threads one way or the other that essentially boil down to the same thing. Either:
“I got this item and its just a digital item and you don’t need it.”
or
“I want this item and it’s just a digital item and there’s no reason I can’t have.”
Moral of the story: people have an attatchment to digital items and use the fact that they are digital as an argument equally for both why people should and should not have said items.

Are you REALLY comparing some silly reward in WoW to a super bowl ring? Seriously? Isn’t that like comparing a hot wheels car to a Rolls Royce? Or more like a “picture” of a hot wheels car to a Rolls Royce.
Whatever reward we’ve collected along the way, we’ve already had for all the years we’ve had it. The vast majority of them don’t even see the light of day, at least mine don’t. I don’t care in the slightest if they offer them on the trading post. If it makes some person happy to get a mount they’ve wanted forever, I’m all for it.

They already exist: Challenge mode PvE and Elite PvP.

K, bring back elite pvp gear. Elite pvp mounts, just have them bought in the store or off the trading post or better yet just for marks of honor.
Bring back world first titles/Immortal/Undying/Champion of the Naaru/dark portal tabard/Ashbringer/Atiesh.
All of it.
Stupid takes, the height of entitlement. Life means having missed out on what you missed out on. You don’t get to pull a Chromie time on the stock market because you missed investing into Apple or Microsoft when they IPO’d.

Lmao what kinda capitalist chowderhead invests in the stock market - I just want my lil character to have neat clothes that cost a couple hours time to put back in the game. Ain’t the same chief. Yeah, life’s about missin out. But why miss out if you don’t have to. :3
Also to add, I would wager that most Super Bowl-winning players don’t really care for the rings as items; they understand that the items are just a recognition of some sort of accomplishment. In other words, Tom Brady didn’t win seven Super Bowls so that he could have 7 new rings to wear.
Furthermore, even if they didn’t hadn’t given out rings, everyone would still know that Tom Brady won the Super Bowl those years. Barry Sanders famously did not attend the Heisman ceremony the year in which he won the award and also left the award at his parent’s house; everybody still knows Barry Sanders won the Heisman that year though.
With CM appearances, I know that someone using a CM appearance technically completed the CM dungeons, but I have no idea if they bought a carry or legitimately ran them. No player, especially new players, thinks anyone rocking a CM transmog is an elite-level player, they simply like the appearance of the items and would also like to be able to use them.

Y’all are never gonna be elite, whatever status symbols you wish to festoon yourselves with. Rarity and exclusivity mean nothing - people are always gonna find ways to bring luxury to the public. Folks like you gotta deal Skorne.
I agree but I also believe a majority of people in the forums (that represent a minority of the player base) won’t agree with you. Unfortunately they are the…loudest…to say the least.

It’s devaluing things in the game when earning/doing things are what make the game worth playing. When you start handing it all out then things lose their worth and at that point the game loses more of it’s luster. That is why limited collectors items are so fun to collect for those who wish to pursue that. There are already so few of those things it would have been a MUCH better idea to create new collector items…but here we are. Recolors and old collectors items from the past that should have stayed there.
