I played WoW just fine yesterday, I try to get on today after getting off work and I get this message. “Not enough memory. Please refer to https://battle.net/support/article/6926 to find out how to reduce your memory usage.” What gives?
You might have programs that run on start up when you turn on your computer.
Or, you might need to restart your computer if you leave it running all the time.
Those are the best two places to start.
Restarting fixed the issue, but for some odd reason while playing it’s like the game pauses for just a millisecond every five seconds or so, I never have framerate issues.
Check the programs that are running when you start it up.
One of those is probably reacting badly with WoW.
CTRL + ALT + DEL and select Task Manager.
The “APPS” section under the “PROCESSES” tab will show you what is currently running. Under that are the “BACKGROUND PROCESSES”. Check that as well. Most of those are Windows processes, but some of those are other apps that don’t need to be running all the time.
I just got the same thing! I’m on a brand new gaming laptop.
I had this especially happen in Linux, after I patched or something.
I discovered when opening (something like windows task manager) that multiple battle net things were running, agent.exe, etc and what not. Closing all that junk helped.
Also:
This was going on in 2014 also
Could you try deleting the main cache folder located in your World of Warcraft folder? If it becomes corrupted, it can cause the crash you’re seeing. It’ll be rebuilt by the game as you play.
Thank you, fixed the problem! <3
fix the problem , thank you so much
Sooooo… how do i know what processes are necessary and which ones i can end?
You’ll have to know what is a program that is outside of Windows. Something like Discord or Google Chrome (a particularly big resource hog) would be the kind of thing you are looking to stop.
If you are concerned about your open pages on Chrome, go into your Chrome settings and find “On Startup” and switch it to “Continue where you left off”. This will bring back any pages you had open if you close Chrome.
