Not enough anima rewards

The game is very stingy with animal rewards, there shouldn’t be any world quests that give only gold, and when you get the increased world quest item level rewards it should also increase the amount of anima you’re given. upgrading covenant features just gives you more busywork questing for only little more anima. The vast majority of covenant rewards are cosmetic so there is no point in bottlenecking peoples progress this much.

Give people a decent amount of anima for doing M+.
Give people anima for completing Maw quests.
Give people 1 anima for every mob they kill.
(isn’t all the anima being drained into the maw? how come we only see it in the form of anima powers in torghast?)

I understand that in the lore that all the realms are experiencing a drought, but then how come all the anima we are given is from the places experiencing a drought?

The only reason I can think of is that Blizzard was afraid people would make progress too quickly, “oh no can’t have someone upgrading their anima conductor to level 3 that would ruin the game.”

There’s really no benefit to more anima. It doesn’t directly increase your player power, it honestly just gives you more flavor stuff you can do. This idea these forums seem to have about everything going so slowly is strange. The expansions barely been out a month; you’re not supposed to be close to completing it like people seem to think.

I agree completely that anima is too scarce. I do all the weeklies, target anima-lucrative world quests, and try to win a rated BG every day, and still cannot afford any of the larger covenant upgrades and cosmetic rewards that I already earned through achievements or covenant activities. Not to mention, covenant armor upgrades and the more useful covenant adventures cost more anima.

I realize that the rewards are for cosmetic or convenience purposes and am not saying that I want to earn everything overnight, but I do not want to spend the next two years grinding for hundreds of thousands of anima on each toon.

In future patches, an amplification to the rate at which anima is earned would greatly improve the situation, or the addition of activities that reward a greater amount of anima.

You may want to check your message. You have animal listed once. That made me snicker. Now to your comment …

Yes, Anima Power unless you Farm Out The Wazoo is hard to come by. Which is why its lovely to get “defeat powerful foes” as a Calling because its quite often 250 Anima.

Add that on top of killing the World Boss, which so far has been 250 Anima … and you’re halfway to the weekly.

One thing that is annoying, though its more a nitpick, is how they have everything at either 5 anima or 35 anima and they give you multiples of it. Not sure if its default or an addon, but when I look at the map, it shows the actual total anima you get.

But that’s a nitpick.

WQs are actually averaging around 100 Anima. Some less, (2x35), some more (4x35). But 100ish each. You can easily do the 1000 weekly in a single day with the World Boss and 7-8 WQs.

That suggests 500+ a day just doing WQs. 4000/wk.

That’s not nothing. But it is all through WQs.

Yeah, its pretty slow especially if your not grinding everything. I guess it is probably something to work towards over 2 years instead of 2 months.

It would be nice if Mythic+ dungeons offered a scaling value based on the difficulty and if raiding would offer larger pools. LFR maybe 70 per boss, Normal 140, Heroic 210, and Mythic 280 anima per boss, or 2 of the 35 anima items (2x, 4x, 6x, 8x).

*Edit lol I typed animal too.

agreed, considering it’s not used for anything really important besides cov upgrade which lets be honest the real payment is souls silly they block a currency that is mostly used for cosmetics

anime is scarce now i hope they up the amounts since we stopped the drought

I’ve bought three cosmetic pieces, three Covenant “buildings,” upgraded one, and upgraded all of my Covenant armor. I have 2100ish sitting in my anima bank right now.

Best I can tell you: command table isn’t worth it, don’t heal companions if you have it, get the anima conductor leveled up, and get World Queat Tracker addon. It gives a much better overview of the amount of anima you’ll get from WQs. Run the two dungeon weeklies, do the elite WQ and weekly world boss.

Again seeing the ‘optional’ aspect. lol.
I think it just feels very unrewarding to time spent in a world quest or whatever… world bosses for me has been annoying to get to and phasing issues, lag etc

I have no incentive or urge to even do the anima weekly. But then that’s one less thing (wqs) which sucks. Wouldn’t hurt if they made it feel a bit more awarding but I guess they want you doing X, Y, Z, D, T, A, content. Or pull your hair out grinding world quests for it.

The key thing several people are forgetting.

It’s the new AP grind. And the biggest worry is that if you look at how many REnown you can get per week, we’ll hit 40 FAST. I don’t see Blizzard considering the Covenant Campaigns being finished that early in the expansion. Which means they’re going to add Renown levels, which also means they’ll be adding even more expensive anima stuff to buy.

THAT is what should worry us, what they’ll add LATER.

There probably should be more anima, and more varied ways to farm anima.

If it really affected my play, I’d have uninstalled by now as bad as it is. Thankfully it doesn’t.

Not really. Because this doesn’t give you player power. It just gives cosmetics. Which, imo, is a huge improvement over what we had.

theres also 2 pvp weekly’s that give 250 anima each week, 1 for rated and one for non rated. with the theater of pain, World Boss and a non rated pvp, thats 750 right there. winning a random and random epic BG gives 280 per day too. and then all the WQ’s for anima themselves… im tapped out of anima tho as i just upgraded my Anima Conducter to level 3, and i dont farm anima real hard. but i wouldnt say its difficult to get anima.

And if you don’t PvP, then those rewards mean nothing. I think they gave them so that PvPers would feel “obligated” to run boatloads of WQs like PvE players have to so they can get their Anima.

Man, I wish. Give me free cats.

I think that’s the problem.

Gating power progression I can understand, whether I like it or not.

But do we really need to gate the fun, fluff stuff?

I can’t see any reason to slow or limit peoples ability to play the flavourful, fun, non progression content other than to milk sub time.

Because then people finish stuff right away and complain “ThErEs NoThInG tO dO”

… Yes, people will do the fun, flavourful, non progression stuff and be like, yep I’m done.

But seriously, if people want to burn through it that’s on them, and only them…
