Minimap was displaying everything correctly on november 28th during launch day, after maintenance window on the 29th, minimap no longer tracks gathering professions properly, relogging and reloading UI did not fix this issue

same issue, tried it without addons same result.

Coming here to bump this. Just landed next to an herb node that was not showing up on my minimap.
Similar to this, I’m playing the game with my wife and we’re both seeing mines and herbs, but I’m seeing treasure nodes and she isn’t not.
Edit: In her case, the treasure nodes were not showing up due to Coordinates add-on. Probably not related to this issue after all.
Also coming back to report that disabling addons does not make them appear on the map. Really frustrating.
The work around is to check the tracking again. It gets turned off when entering the game or when you die.

turn tracking on again? this isn’t classic nor do we have that option anymore since dragonflight.

Uhhh. Yeah we do.
The tracking is being clicked off upon death and probably a few other events. Just click it again to make sure. That’s the only way I could get it to come back up.

but thank you for letting me know that you can adjust it if you install an addon i guess?
this is definitely a bug because there is no other way to turn tracking on or off in-game without an addon.
Then what’s this with no addons?
Looks like a “Find Minerals” check-box, to me. Along with all the rest of them. See the little binoculars next to the zone title? That’s where the tracking pane collapses into. They’re not going to get rid of that function. It’s too important to the game.
Again, if you want to fix the bug stated in the OP, click “Find Minerals” one or two times and watch your mini-map come alive with all the nodes you can mine.

Thank you, I have been trying to fix this for two days and never saw the TINY little scissors looking thing that opens up the tracking now
I was just having the same issue and this article helped fix it. I am still waiting for Seraphmoon to say it doesn’t exist. I guess we’ll take his disappearance as issue resolved.

That’s because those are pictures of the Retail 10.x UI.
I think SOD would have a Classic style minimap control:
Controlling what shows up on your minimap is a menu associated with the “magnifying glass” icon on the left side of the minimap.
(Also, you have to have trained in the Mining profession to be able to detect minerals.)
for those still confused, I don’t have a magnifying glass but the menu is from what looks like a pair of binoculars above the mini map left of the zone name and time
Wait, SOD is using the retail-style condensed option menu?
I didn’t expect that.
It also seems character specific. My warrior can’t see nodes even after standing next to them; while my hunter has no issue.
