Not ALL wish for Peace- Here's why you PVP lore wise in SL

I mean the Naaru decided to just show up in Shadowlands over a grudge! Plus have you seen what’s happened to alternate Draenor? The Light is the true evil!

I sometimes wonder to what extent it’s just different writers choosing to ignore what the other writers are doing.

Maintaining peace on your nation’s/faction’s terms requires leverage. It’s easier to have leverage when other nations’/factions’ strongest champions mysteriously fall off cliffs or take lava baths.

Eeeeh. WoW has had like, 50 true evils.

True Evil on Azeroth has lost it’s meaning since we’ll find another one next month.

The true evil of the warcraft universe are the non-repair vendors. The people who sell useless crap… and don’t even repair your gear. :frowning:

Some people have built up complicated interpersonal relationships around fighting that can’t be so easily undone.

We Rogues often flirt with each other by leaving romantic notes attached with little heart-shaped pins in someone’s spine.

So is blood elf paladin the new male orc warrior when it comes to NO YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND, ALWAYS FITE, NEVER PEAS.

Nah. But I do notice that there are a lot of really bloodthirsty blood elves in the Horde who sort of…try really hard to convince you about how angry they are? Like, they’re trying to show you they belong in the Horde even when no one said they didn’t. And you don’t want to be rude, but they’re all pink and hopping up and down and saying “BLOOD AND THUNDER!” in that little squeaky voice.

So sad, since Revanchist blood elves would have so many more compelling ways to get their point across that are not as bland as smack it with a stick, but hurt so much more than that.

I …I…

…I just head canon’d PvP in this expansion as being magically crafted wargames. Feels real but isn’t so people can go ham but not actually kill each other while reilivng historic skirmishes.

Also wait, the Horde sent a LOINCLOTH wielding maniac to Stormwind? …no weapons? Just a loincloth?

And here all my characters use guns, bows, swords, axes, sometimes fish, as weapons. Never once have any of them used a piece of clothing as a weapon…

WAit did I say fish? I meant fists. Because Monks got the punch powah.

Too late, there are no take backsies in my kingdom. You now wield fish, it is the new headcanon.

For an honest to god minute I actually thought Blizzard had made some sort of serial killer NPC that targeted gnomes with loincloths and I just sort of accepted it sadly? Like I didn’t even question that you guys were talking about whatshisname and just figured that was something that is in the realm of possibility for Blizzard.

Considering some of the other questionable things they hide that’s involved that extreme national pride quite a few of them like to immerse in? And that they tend to have some pretty bad takes in and out of character, Idk if it should be surprising in any instance and specifically in this one. But hey, some people were also pretty okay with their members rping homophobia before and excusing their members actions bc they do the pvps and therefor don’t know any better. I sure can’t remember who that was, really just escapes the brain!

Honestly though, I think a fair bit of belf pallies have always been that way.

I am going to be the odd one out here in this thread and say it:
Faction conflict in Shadowlands really really really really would not make sense. Other then “my character would” which is fine (don’t get me wrong, you RP as you wish!) however to say the in game leaders would approve of this is a stretch in a half.

I have been kinda saying since the end of MoP the faction conflict lore has had less and less of a good reason with:
Ashran- Wintergrasp reskin
Stormhiem- Revenge for Gilneas, can kinda see it
Teldrassil- Revenge for Stormhiem? Eh…
Rest of BfA-
Shadowlands- SPOILERS!
Tyrande literally accepts help from the Horde in Anderwald campaign while looking for Sylvanas.
